I am about to reach 30th level with four of my characters. I have a Guardian, Elementalist, Mesmer, and a Necro. I have pretty much just played solo, does not seem many people ask for groups at low levels? All three of my characters put together may have been ivited 4 times? Anyway, I have pretty much red what skill sets I am going to follow. I wanted to ask, is 30th level a mark that adds additions to my game play or character play? Also, out of the four characters, what do you suggest should be my main?

Have you put up the ‘flag’ saying you want to group? Or asked in chat? Random party invites happen sometimes, even though people are supposed to ask first. It is true that there is very little grouping. I am not entirely sure why. Do people want to prove that they can do everything on their own? Do they just all want to be trhe one deciding where to go and how fast? Or have they not yet discovered that loot gets better in a group?

30 is the level where the Elite skills become available and that is why it is an important step. If you have saved skillpoints (or are playing with Digital Deluxe or higher edition) you can add the Elite skill immediately. Otherwise you just continue doing the same things as you have so far, perhaps moving to new area, meeting new enemies and friends.

At, or near lvl 30, the first ‘yellow’ items become available. They are a little better than the green and may not cost very much at the TP. But you will do just fine in the blue or green armor and arms. I never had anything but the Personal Story rewards levelling up.

Lvl 30 U would say adds to character play. To me it’s the point where I can actually begin to understand how all the skills fit and interact with each other, also the point where I learn how to play my class effectively.

However 30 adds dungeons to the mix! This adds to a different type of pve play. This requires a very different mindset that takes a little while to adjust. Though when you get it down with a good group is very rewarding I find.

As for your main… Which one do you play on longest?
Play the one you enjoy most or find most interesting. Don’t go for one class just because you can roll through all the higher end content.

In my eyes you don’t really have to have a main. Why not play them all?

30th level is when you get your elite skill slot. Hope you’ve been saving skill points for it.

You don’t have a guild? Or no one in your guild forms groups to play together?

Picking a main is hard, if you want to do it. But you don’t have to. Just because others do doesn’t mean you need to. Just do what you want.
