New To GW2....In need of help
any helpful info?
If you are new to the genre then neither of those question will have any relevance to your personal experience. Seriously, pick a class that sounds interesting and play that to level 10 or so then repeat with another class (you have 5 slots available). Eventually you’ll know which one fits your play style the best.
Outside of that I really can’t comment on the “so on…” bit as I have no clue what you are referring to.
As above, seriously the best thing to do in this game is just make a character, go out in the world and take in the sights. You will get caught up in what is going on around you in no time. It plays differently so it is best just to keep an open mind and see for yourself.
Welcome to the game.
All professions are viable and fun. Best to narrow your selection by preferred playstyle. Melee? Warrior or Guardian. Ranged? All the rest, but many ranged, caster classes do fine in melee range. The two most played classes are melee, Warrior and Guardian. Warriors wreck face and Guardian is a boon factory that does very good damage. Read over the professions on the site and see if anything speaks to you. I’ve played all the professions over the last three months and have enjoyed the game playing each.
that helps, really do appreciate the intel
Guardian is EZ-Mode profession.
Spec and Gear into Power and Vitality until you get to 60ish or higher.
Gather and sell all you get on the Trading Post, so you can buy better gear on Trading Post.
Save crafting until you are very high level.
Good Hunting
All races are the same – just model
All classes are balanced no 1 is up or op all are great
no class is considered to be the highest dps no class can be a healer and no class can be a tank, which makes all classes great in a party no tank healer dps
each class can do amezing job by dpsing the boss by supporting ur friends by giving little heals and buffs by no such thing is agro so each class can “tank”
the best class and race is ur main charector
Best Class: Ritualist
Best Race: Orc
[Envy], [Moon]
Depends on what you want to do.
If you want to always be wanted and you like to Support, then play a Guardian.
If you want to be all around good at everything (and favor Greatswords), then play a Warrior.
If you want to be sneaky and do big burst damage (but is very squishy), then play a Thief.
If you like throwing grenades, using tools, flamethrowers and a variety of kits, then play an Engineer.
If you want a prof with a high skill cap and plays with fire, then play an Elementalist.
If you want to be tricky and your main goal is to SPVP or WvWvW, then play a Mesmer.
The “weakest” or rather “most broken” profs would be the Necromancer and the Ranger. Might want to save those for an Alt.
Right now, it’s very common to see Thieves, Guardians and Mesmers. I would say Elementalist is also close to being very common. Engineers and Necros are probably the least common and even though Ranger is broken, their aesthetics are usually popular in MMOs so they’re not as uncommon. But still weak.
Your race doesn’t matter. Racials are generally garbage and you’ll probably never use them, so pick the race that most appeals to you.

Welcome to the game! You’ve picked a great one. Balance is an ever shifting goal and A-net tends to stay on top of the meta, so which class is “OP” and at doing which type of task can change from patch to patch, but the goal is always to keep the playing field pretty level.
Most important is a class that lends well to how you like to play, and to that end, I encourage you (as above posters have said) to play around with a few different classes and see what you like. You can always re-trait a character, so don’t feel like you have to be perfect from the beginning. Play around, learn what you like, and most important, have fun!
