Hey guys, what’s up?

I’ve been offline for a good while, and I noticed that the April 2014 Feature Pack had updated a ton of stuff. This is awesome, but now I feel like I need to find a new build for my engi. I’m not saying that the feature pack is messing me up; I just feel like mixing things up a little.

I’m lvl 80, and I’ve been rocking a shield and pistol ever since the beginning. I normally run on PVE, but some PVP advice is useful too (i occasionally jump on pvp). I honestly do not want to quit using this combo. I’m just wondering if there are any engi’s out there (or anyone at all) that can give out some helpful hints or tips for a guy using a shield and pistol.

I know that traits and abilities matter, but I would like to know what you guys think a good build or set would be for a shield/pistol engi nowadays. Does anyone have a few tips to share?

I don’t really play engi myself, but in WvW grenade condition engis are always pretty scary. If I had to pick an engi build I’d want to try right now if I had an 80 engi, something like 6 / 6 / 0 / 0 / 2 with the new traits is what I’d go with. Combined with the new Grandmaster trait in the second trait line which creates a mine at your feet whenever you crit, there just seems to be a ton of potential for being a nuisance against other players. Full rabid gear, burn on crit, chance for explosions to cause bleed, swiftness on equipping kit, the works.
