Guild Wars 2

Hello community. My 2 year old video card crashed and I’m thinking of buying a new one. I have a budget of around 300 USD and wanted to hear some suggestions from you. I had my fill with ATI and wanted to give Nvidia a try. I play the game on max visual settings so let me know what you think. I’m at work right now so can’t post my PC settings. Advice is welcome

That is a nice budget, look for the GTX 970 , you can’t go wrong with it.

I to am getting the GTX 960, I’m getting an MSI GTX 960 Gaming 2GB, should be here in the next few days. I can let you know how it works if you like before you buy. My full set up is;
i5 4690K, 8GB HyperX Savage, MSI H81M-E34 Mobo, (Have a 9800GT at the moment) MSI GTX 960 2GB, Seasonic S12G 650W, Gigabyte GZ-M2 Case.

I’ll be getting a new case at some point, it’s a little tight in there now.

If you have $300, get a 290x over a 960 or 970.

Don’t do it, don’t go Red!

i have a AMD FX 8350 4.0 GHZ
GPU is a HIS Radeon R9 270X iceQ2 Turbo 2 GIG DDR5
and my power supply is 700 WATT atm

now that i hear in the game that the balance between the CPU and the GPU is bad
the card is to weak for the CPU ??

so i wanna no from players here that are pro in this kind off work if its true ore not ??
if so what must i buy to balance things out ??

stronger card more power you name it
any advice will be very welcome

From what I understand, the game is very CPU dependant. so you can run the game very well on an older card, such as I am, (Nvidia 9800GT 1GB). As long as you have a good multi core CPU you can run the game with descent FPS, I get around 35-45 with everything on High. you pc spec id a few posts up. I’m up Grading to a MSI GTX 960 Gamming 2GB. Should be here on Tuesday. So I can give how much of a difference FPS wise a new card will give, with the same set up over the old one.

It’s the other way around; that GPU is more then powerful enough for GW2, but you’ll need a new CPU to get the best experience possible.
