Guild Wars 2

Hi everyone just got the game the other day and I have been watching a lot of videos about the classes online and stuff.

Im looking for a class that is good in solo roaming, been trying out the Thief and its pretty fun but idk what else to try.

What do you guys think is the best 1v1 roamer style class.

Necro and Mesmer seem pretty cool also.

ranger is the best 1vs1 class

Condition necro is strong 1v1. As is mesmer with staff/G’S now that sword/x is in nerfland. Which is sad because mesmer focus is has one of my favorite skills on it.

Thief or mesmer is a good choice for roaming, both are very fun and access to stealth makes them one of top roaming classes.
Condi necro is indeed really strong in 1v1 but it can be really painful to roam with him due to low mobility and lack of escapes.

Anything but Guardian should have at least one way of being a decent roamer. Maybe Necros aren’t so great at it either, haven’t played that class and I don’t recall ever really running into any who do that, not that I WvW much.

Actually, guardians can also roam pretty effectively, but you have to spec and gear for mobility (traveler runes at least) to have a chance, otherwise you get trained/kited easily.
But yeah, if you are a good player who knows his class, any class is viable.

As crochip said, the vote usually goes to either thief or mesmer. Thief might not win all fights, but it’s also possible to never die.

As a Mesmer, it’s possible to win most fights, but yeah, sometimes you end up facing a thief and the thief will just go away.
