Guild Wars 2

Here’s the deal. My current computer is limping by with this game, but just barely. I’m in the market for an upgrade anyway. I am kind of ignorant about hardware – I tried to build a PC from scratch back in like 2004 and some parts didn’t get along with other parts in interesting ways that wound up melting some other things.

So the budget is around $1500-1800, depending on how hard Christmas hits me. That includes getting two new monitors (and the new computer would have to be set up to handle that, of course), and I’m fishing around for a drawing tablet too.

Would it be possible, within that price range, to build a system that will run this game at a decent framerate with most or all graphics settings dialed all the way up? Any recommendations on specific hardware?

You should be able to get one that will run it but I’m not entirely sure at highest settings. It all depends on how much you spend on those two monitors.

Well, I am running it on highest settings with a computer that cost €699. So, yes. You can build one for that price I am sure.
