New lvl 80 player... so lost
Here’s a guide on what there is to do at level 80 in Guild Wars 2. Aside from what’s there, i’d add that you might want to test out different builds. See if you like whatever weapon/rune combinations you have, or if something else is better. Farm a little gold every day through dailies or events. There are other champ trains in the world!

You’ve probably blown through most of what you could’ve enjoyed, to be honest. The whole point of this game is the adventure in levelling up across various zones.
That said, because you’ve rushed it and have now already completed some end-game goals for yourself in a hurry (e.g full Exotics), you’re left with only end-game content to complete. This roughly includes the following:
- Complete Personal Story (This ties into story dungeons)
- Dungeons (Story & Explorable)
- Fractals (although these may require upgrading to ascended gear)
- sPvP
- WvW (Eternal Battlegrounds, not EOTM)
- PvP Activities/minigames such as Crab Toss
- Farming (champ trains, world bosses, harvesting)
- World Completion (for Gift of Exploration, star, and title)
Most of this was stuff that you could’ve already done at lower levels, and which may be too easy now that you’re a fully-geared lv80 Berserker warrior. But YMMV. Out of them, I would say PvP, dungeons and fractals will offer the most challenge, while WvW can also offer a challenge if you stay away from zergs.
Most of the problem with challenges in open world were recently introduced with the megaserver patch and will hopefully be corrected in the coming months.
There will be more to do when Living Story season 2 begins near summer.
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.

I’m currently exploring the map and aiming for 100% completion – I’m blogging about it too, a double whammy of enjoyment for me.
It’s really fun. And my opinion on the megaserver – for exploration at least – is that it’s made exploring a whole lot more fun.
Other than that, WvW and PvP is amazing. I’ve just found bigger games in the PvP browser, with up to 10v10, which is a lot more fun. I go for The Courtyard map, which is just pure killing nothing else, and it’s fantastic.

That’s a bit of an exaggeration. It’s true that the OP doesn’t need to play lower level content to level up, but that doesn’t mean he can never play it at all.
All the maps are still accessible and because of down-levelling can be fun to play still because even at level 80 with full exotics you won’t be able to one-shot everything and at least some enemies (veterans and champs especially) can be very challenging.
It might also be a good idea to start with some open-world PvE because one thing levelling by crafting and the champ train can’t give you is a good understanding of how to play your profession. Jumping straight from that into a dungeon is likely to be a bit of a shock, even on a warrior which is relatively easy to learn.
The list Hannelore gave is good, but I’d recommend starting with your personal story, which will lead you around some of the maps at least, and then taking time out from it to explore the area around you as you go along.

Hello guys.
I bought this game about two weeks ago when it went on 50% sale…. got level 80 fairly quickly.
So here’s where I am right now: I have full set of exotic armors/weapons/trinkets for berserker on my warrior with the gold i had left over from trading the gems. … I have no idea what to do, where to start, and what to set a goal for. To be quite honest I feel very overburdened with all the contents and really lost on where to start.
Sounds like someone bought a lvl 80 and has no clue what to do…
I would give benefit of the doubt, but honestly how lost can you be to own all this loot and levels and no clue what to do? I mean you making a post in desperation, how lost can you be?

A bit old, but nearly all of it is still valid.

Depends on what you like really. My second character is about to reach world completion status, and I still like it more than most of the game – even though I also run everything else for the sake of getting ascended materials. Eventually I’ll probably get world completion on all 8 characters – that’s more my kind of endgame.
For many other people it’s dungeons, fractals or world vs world.
The question is what you want to do. If all you wanted is to reach the maximum level and nothing else, then you might even want to search for a new game to do that in. We can give you advice as to how to do certain things, but nobody can ever advise you on what you would find fun aside from yourself.
Where do you want to start? What do you want to do?
Want to explore the game world? Go onto a map and do that.
Want to 100% a map? Go around doing the hearts, getting the POIs, waypoints, and vistas.
Want to get a cool weapon skin? Find out what it needs, and get all the materials, be it farming for money for the components, or farming for the components.
Want to PvP? Check out the class forums for a build, or make your own. Maybe read a basics guide. Enter a match, try it out, and adjust.
The goals in the game are ones you set for yourself. And those will be based on what you want to do. Make a goal first, learning how to do it is second.

Once you’ve hit 80, the game becomes largely sandbox. There’s a tuckfon of stuff to do, but you’re not directed or forced to do any of it. Enjoy!

I’m aiming for 100% too! That’s a great goal to have, especially for new players. It sort of seems like the OP entered the game trying to get to max level as soon as possible and this game is not really about that mindset, it’s more about exploration and enjoying the events and other content such as jumping puzzles.
This game is about your personal goals though. Pick something you’re interested in and try it out, see what you like, see what you can improve on, and figure out a goal you want to reach, and try to reach it! That kind of approach makes the game a lot more fulfilling.

Ow boy…
- Craft ascended armor
- Master all craftmanships
- Finish personal story
- Do personal stories in dungeons
- Do fractals
- Do PvE achievements..all one billion of ’em
- Do WvW achievements..all one billion of ’em
- Do EOTM achievements..all one billion of ’em
- Do Fractal achievements..all one billion of ’em
I am sure I forgot a few…
Make a new level 1 character and experience in the levelling process by exploring maps, before you’ve seen it all raced through at 80.
Good luck!

That’s just not true.
As a full zerg warrior, you one shot everything up to 50. You two shot everything up to 70.
Veteran around lvl 65 takes 2 sec to kill, and a group event champ takes 10 seconds…
Now that’s what I wouldn’t call VERY challenging.
