Guild Wars 2

Hey guys, I just started a couple of days ago, and I’m using a level 10 warrior. Right now all I have is chainmail armor, but I see a lot of players who are between 1-5 that have what looks like some type of plate armor that looks a lot better than what I have. How can I get this armor? Thanks.

That’s a generic model resulting from detail cap. Judging by the screenshot quality you are playing somewhere near the lowest settings possible. You will see this on every other player unless you raise the model detail level.

You are seeing the default generic placeholder character for a player. The frequency of seeing that is determined in your graphic settings, the character model quality pulldown. Lowest will have everyone (well a specific profession/race/armor weight) as that, highest will have virtually no one displayed with that. The setting above that, character model limit, will determine how many other players you can see at one time around you. If limit is set to highest and quality to lowest, you will see lots of players and they all will be displayed as faceless generic suited models.

As for if that armor exists for players. Don’t know. But here are a few armor links you can look through to find.

Thanks Behellagh, those links will come in handy now that I can actually see all the character models after changing my graphic settings. I should have gotten the hint that the problem was with my settings when every other person looked the same. Oh well lol.

I’m not completely sure on the other pieces, but the shoulders look like the Dark Pauldrons and the gloves look like the Forgeman Gauntlets
