I also replied to your other post. You can get a makover/hairstyle kit from the gem store or a lucky drop from a black lion chest. You can message me in game if you need any more help. Good luck and happy hunting!

If you don’t like the looks of a character, and its a new character, just delete it and start over. Makeover kits are going to cost you money one way or another so save yourself a few bucks and try again. I would suggest only using a makeover kit if you have already invested a lot of time and money hitting 80, doing map completion, and leveling crafting abilities.

Feel free to add me as well to your friendlist. I am always happy to answer questions or help with in game activities (when I have the time).

Good luck!

If it’s just the name that’s a problem, there are name changes available in the Gem Store. I think there is also a bundle — Identity Repair Kit maybe? — that is a little cheaper than separate name and makeover kits.

Don’t worry about not knowing how things work – everyone was new once and we all found things confusing. When I first logged in I was 27 and a veteran of various other RPGs and MMOs but I wasn’t even sure how to move my character! I’d always used click to move or the arrow keys (which for some reason weren’t set up by default) and the prompt to use WASD wasn’t in the game then.

Anyway, point is it’s confusing for everyone, no matter how old or experienced you are it’s still a new game and does a lot of things differently to most others.

Here’s some answers to your questions:

Deleting characters

You can delete characters. Go to the character select screen, select the character you want to delete, press the delete button in the bottom right corner and type in their name. (The last step is a precaution to make sure you’re deleting the right one.)

But before you do that log into the character and double check (even if you’re already sure) that absolutely everything you want to keep has been placed in your bank. Support may not be able to help you if you delete a character that was holding something you wanted to save.

IMO the best way to do it is to move everything from their equipment tab into their inventory, then go through each item one by one, reading the name and either placing it in the bank, selling it, salvaging it or deleting it until there’s nothing left. Then unequip any extra bags they have and do the same with those. Then double check their equipment tab and inventory is empty.

(I recommend doing it this way because it’s so much easier to look at a completely grey equipment tab and be sure there’s nothing in it than to glance over the icon for a gathering tool, for example, and be confident it’s a soulbound temporary one and not one of the infinite ones that cost 1,000 gems.)

Make-over kits

You can buy these in the gem store (lion face icon at the top of the screen) for 350 gems (which can be bought with real money or with gold). They’re called Total Make-over Kits and are listed under ‘Services’.

But if the character is new and you haven’t made much progress yet it might be better to delete and re-make them. (Although the kits do allow you access to some exclusive faces, hairstyles and hair and eye colours.)

Other questions

You can always ask anything you’re not sure about on here, I guarantee it’s not the first time someone has asked that question and it won’t be the stupidest one posted that day. (Unless you really make an effort, like asking why Anet hasn’t been sued for advertising the game as subscription free but refused to pay your internet bill.)

Alternatively you can ask in Map chat in-game. Although people may redirect you to the forum, the wiki or fan sites for things which don’t have a quick or simple answer, like “what’s the best sword?” or “What build should I use for WvW?”

Which reminds me…

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page

Genuinely one of the best game-wikis I’ve used. There’s tons of helpful (and mostly well written!) information on there. In-game you can also type /wiki or /wiki [thing you want to know about] (e.g. “/wiki sword” will take you to the page on swords).

Don’t worry if you don’t know the exact name, there’s a lot of re-directs for common mistakes and the search feature will search the text of an article too.
