Hello everyone,

I am almost a month in to playing, and enjoying the game and the in-game community very much. This is my first visit to the forums. I had some questions which I haven’t found answers to on my own:

1) I play for an hour or two, then I visit a Black Lion Trader to empty my inventory. It gets a little frustrating because I can only sell 10 or so items before the game tells me I’ve sold too many items in too short a time frame, and must wait. Is there a workaround? I’m manually clicking everything — not using some sort of fast program — so it always surprises me that the threshold is set so low.

2) Am I supposed to be thinking about crafting? I wanted to try it at first, but found I didn’t understand the system very well, so I stopped phutzing with it. Now I’m level 63, have stacks and stacks of iron and wood saved, and am thinking I should probably re-visit crafting at some point.

3) What am I supposed to be doing with these Skill Points I keep accruing? I bought the skill tree skills which seemed good. I have 82 unspent Skill Points right now, and keep accruing more.

4) I’m capped on spending Trait Points until I hit level 80. I am an Elementalist who focuses on Fire Magic. Should I be saving the trait points for 80? Or spending the excess now on a second spec (like Water Magic for healing)?

5) I was introduced to Dulfy’s GW2 World Boss Timer page. I know where Shadow Behemoth and Molniir are located. But I don’t understand how to use the waypoint references found on the page (like, “[&BH4BAAA=]”) to find the other bosses I am not familiar with.

Thanks for any assistance you can give.

Kind regards,
Infinix

Sounds like Anet can make things a bit more simpler for you. cough

1) no idea

2) I would deposit all of your crafting stuff and save it for when you find an item you actually want to craft. You can earn exotic items easier by just dungeoning / pve stuff.

3) You can just unlock more skills or save them up for crafting items. There are many skins that require items you can only purchase with skill points.

4) Spend them all, you can reset anytime for free.

5) You copy and paste those codes into your chat and it should give you a clickable link in-game that shows you where it is on the map.

1) It usually takes around 5-10 seconds to be able to sell, after getting that message. Most of your items should be stored in your Collectible tab in your bank. If you go to your inventory(i) and click on that cog icon in the top right corner of it, and then pick “Deposit All Collectibles”, it will automatically put all of your crafting materials in that tab. There’s no need to sell everything to Black Lion Trading Guy right away. It’s best to gather some and do it from time to time to avoid wasting time. All the items that won’t go to your Collectibles, are okay to sell. Except for the gear you need and some rare items you might find.

2)You should start crafting right away. It can be fun to discover new things and make your own armour/weapons. It was really satisfying the first time I did it. Keep in mind that discoveries give you way more experience.

3)Save those to buy Traits in case you won’t be able to complete one of the requirements to unlock them. Skillpoints will be handy sooner or later. Either that, or keep them for your future legendary weapon.

4)Go ahead and fool around with traits until you find the build of your dreams. You can reset them at any time for free.

5)Best to uncover the maps, it will come in handy eventually. Also listen to what ArcTheFallen told you. =)

If you will have any future questions, simply whisper me in the game.

1) I think this is a result of the new TP interface that was introduced in September. It used to take a few more clicks and a bit more time to sell each item. I don’t think the threashold for the restriction (which is designed to stop automated programs) was adjusted to take the new system into account.

But you only have to wait a few seconds and it will let you sell again.

2) It couldn’t hurt to think about crafting. It’s not essential but it can be useful to have some relevant crafts levelled up.

The system is confusing at first but once you get into it it’s fairly straight forward. Basically every item (except food) is made up of 3 parts: 2 base parts like a sword blade and a hilt and an upgrade, an inscription (for weapons) or insignia (for armor). There are also guides online that will walk you through the whole process.

3) First unlock all your skills if you haven’t already. Some of them you might not use but it’s a good idea to have them unlocked just in case. After that they can be used as a currency to buy items, mostly for crafting exotics with special skins and for legendary weapons.

You’ll keep getting skill points after you reach level 80 so you never need to worry about running out.

4) Unlike skill points you get a finite number of trait points (18 at level 80) but you can move them around any time you’re out of combat so there’s no need to wait to use them. Put the into another line now, then when you unlock the final tier you can move them over.

5) You can copy and paste the code into the chat bar in game, hit enter and then click on it to be shown where the waypoint is, but you can’t actually use it until you’ve walked there and unlocked it. But it will show you were to go and from there it’s fairly straight forward to find.
