Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone,

FinalIy got fed up with the “other” MMO. lol

I am currently downloading GW2 as I type. So excited to get started in this game. It looks so awesome, but I have a question.

Which server should I start on that is New player friendly? I tend to lean more towards PvE and a great community of players.

Hope to get to meet some of you ingame.

First bounce question is where you live in the world, and off course I dont need your streetadress, just if it is in Europe or the rest of the world. This matters cause european servers are cut of from northern america servers (wich also has everything not european).

I personally play on the european server Gandarra. I have alsways seen the chat be very nice and friend and there is a great atmosphere. We are okyaish in WvW (pvp/pve hybrid) but msot active in PvE and I rarely have to play alone.

Gandarra is an english server so people expect you to talk in english in mapchat and in random party’s. The majority of guilds are english-speaking as well, though there are some foreign language guilds (dutch, polish, turkish, croatian, italian).

Ow and if I’m not busy with helping guildmembers I’m always happy to give a helping hand.

if your looking for NA server top 5 servers with most pop will be jade quarry, black gate, sanctum of rall, tarnished coast, dragonbrand. im not to sure on the EU servers but once you have fully logged in u will be allowed to guest to other serves so it docent really matter which server you chooses ill whisper u in game and u can shoot me some questions if u have some

I’m on the East Coast of the US. There seem to be lots of choices. I appreciate all the replies.

IonusX has given some great server suggestions and I’m sure you will find plenty of people in game or on the forums who can help you with any questions you have. GW2 community in general is very friendly and helpful (Ignoring the few bad apples and that the forums tend to be far more negative than people in game are)

Just hop in and play, I very rarely meet unfriendly people in this game, most people will be willing to give you a hand if you need. Its a great game, I hope you enjoy it.

My advice is if you’re mostly into PvE, then consider Tarnished Coast. I can’t really comment on PvP or WvW, since I don’t really focus on those.

Check the ranking column. Any server that is better than 9 will be what you should aim for. Casual PvE go Tarnished Coast. Hardcore PvE go Blackgate.
