Guild Wars 2

Hello GW community.

I am new to Guild Wars and am having trouble selecting a good home world. I am a UK resident if this helps. I wondered if some people could kindly give me some advice on which world options would be best suited for me.

Server’s only really matter for WvW as the Megaserver system combines all servers in a region (so EU or NA) in PvE. For WvW info check out either the leader boards here or at http://mos.millenium.org/eu/matchups/ . Personally I’d recommend Aurora Glade but I’m a little biased :-P

What makes your opinion biased? Is Aurora Glade your home world?

Is Aurora Glade a UK server? I’m having a little trouble seeing the flags on the link you provided. Hope this doesn’t seem a silly question.

No UK dedicated servers I believe. Servers with EU flag speak english (mostly), while the specific ones like Germany and France have the respective flags.
Like Adaephon said, your home server only matters for WvW. By checking the first link he provided you can see how well servers are doing in WvW.
At the moment it is:
1st Seafarer’s Rest (EU)
2nd Kodash (German)
3rd Jade Sea (French)
4th Desolation (EU)
5th Far Shiverpeaks

You can see the rest of the placements there. Aurora Glade is the 16th.

Ok. Thank you for all your help. I think now I have a better understanding of the worlds now. With consideration in mind, and the fact I wish to get into making my character and exploring the world, I’m going to go with AdaephonDelat’s suggestion and go for Aurora Glade.

Ah sorry yeah I’m biased as it’s my home server. We’re not high in the rankings but we’re fun (least I think so!). As mentioned above there is no UK dedicated server just EU servers.

When you get in game if you open the friends panel (default key Y) and add me (can use the user name to the left) then message me if you need help/advice and I’ll see what I can do.
