Guild Wars 2

Hi there!

I just got GW2 a few days ago, and I love what I’ve played so far. I’m just not so satisfied with my Necro. He’s level 21, and I’ve tried him in both Structured and World PvP. I don’t like the play style so much.

I’ve found that I’m particularly good at “picking apart” characters/classes in other games I’ve played, and it would be awesome if someone could recommend a class/build that shines with practice (hopefully something at least a little tanky. I’m not picky about roles). I want to focus on PvP, but still have PvE open to me.

Side question, how does Guardian support play in PvP? Is it fun?

I couldn’t answer your questions about Guardian but from what you suggested I might recommend Engineer. I’ve got one and they’re really diverse and have a lot of different build types to suit your play style, and they wear medium armor so they’ve got something going on there.

Engineer is your Swiss army knife class so as far as diversity goes thats your class .

For tanky i would go Guardian or War . Guardians have low base health but have the best defensive skill set in the game which more than makes up for it . the Warrior as its namesake states is more offense oriented .Aas far as elites go the warrior has a more practical set up as the guardians tomes replace your weapon skills for a time much like a kit would on an engineer.
