Guild Wars 2

I have unlocked troll urgent, but when I press the arrow over the active spell in the hero panel, troll urgent is blacked out, and when I hover above it it has a blue triangle with a red cross on top.

What do I need to do to change healing ability?

Is this in battle? You can’t tweak your slot skills if you are in battle or suffering from a condition like poison or bleeding.
