Guild Wars 2

So…. I haven’t played the game in about a year but many still consider that noob-like.
I’ve yearned for it and now I’m back, wanting to start a new character.
I want to ask for some advice because after a year of patches and fixes who knows what the meta is? (not me)
I want to start a mainly PvE support class- probably necromancer or mesmer, but I want to see the pros and cons of each before settling.
again, mainly PvE. I know I went up against wicked good mesmers in PvP but i loved the dungeons so much in this game.
anyways, as well as that advice, what’s a good class for going unorthodox tank? I know that warrior, and guardian are constant tanking all the time, but I want to have some fun with a tank that’s not usually seen

“Unorthodox tank” sounds like Necro all over. They have crazy high HP even before Death Shroud, other mitigation options and of course minions which act as extra bodies. I think you’d probably like it. So that’s my answer to both questions. Whatever you do, enjoy

Play the mesmer then … you’ll have a lot easier time in the high-end content. For example, the best speed runs are done with 4 warriors and a mesmer. You could also portal people up to jumping puzzle ends … all the necro has is cool effects.

P.S. the devs love a mesmer … the coolest weapons are purple/pink with a dark theme suited for a mesmer.
