Q:
Newcomer Here! Just a Few Questions.
A:
For pve…
-dungeons
-open world events
-open world metaevents
-fractals
-living story
- lvl all 5 classes and all 8 races to 80
On crafting
-complicated but not interesting
-primarily used to level up characters (you can lvl up a character in 6 hours by crafting..costs under 100g)
-not profitable due to economic efficiency
On casual-gamer
-Very much so, but you are often enticed to log-in everyday and play anywhere from 1-2 hours (in order to get you dailies). It’s not required, though
-There is new content every 2 weeks so make sure you soak it up since most content is temporary and you will never see again.
Add/whisper me in game and if you need some bag slots to help with leveling I can send you some

I’m not sure of your definition of “new-comer” Eitherway, I’ll bite.
PvE, I can’t say as I find it repetitive once you pass a certain mark. I enjoyed Dungeons to an extent but it falls short to some experiences I’ve had. But those are other variables.
Crafting, Don’t care besides the gathering. Not like I ever care to craft anything except to justify my leveling it.
Yes its very casual friendly, you can solo everything bar end dungeons and group events… But I’ve never seen a hardcore curve there.
1. There’s going to be updates with mini games, little stories and temporary dungeons every 2 weeks starting tomorrow. Previously we would get such temporary content every month. So yes, if you like that kind of fun stuffs you should never run out of PVE content
2. Crafting is not very profitable, but it gets you levels. Some people choose to craft to 80. I wouldn’t recommend it, but crafting on the side of exploring and doing your personal story will help you get levels
3. The only progression that we have that you can’t immediately get are ascended items. 30 dailies will get you a necklace, 35 dailies will get you a ring (or you can run this dungeon called fractals – when you reach level 10 in fractals (you need to be level 80 to really enjoy this content) you can run it 10 times (once a day) and you’ll get a ring), then we have ascended back packs (can only be gotten by grinding fractals) and ascended accessories (gotten by doing guild missions). However a lot of people completely ignore these items, because they’re a very minor upgrade and you don’t need them for any other content except for fractals.
Does GW2 offer, in terms of PvE, many features that can keep you solely playing for PvE alone? If so I would be grateful for examples that hold true to the PvE experience.
I just roam around the world doing random stuff and I’ve been having tons of fun with that alone. There is other more structured content as well, but I’ll let more experienced players fill you in on those.
Does crafting add any flavor to the game that would make it a good thing to do while leveling a character?
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘flavor’ in this context, but crafting is pretty important. The gear you can craft is comparable if not better than gear you find while adventuring, and it’s also an easy way to gain character EXP. Of course you also gain EXP for gathering the materials needed for crafting, and for exploring new areas to find more materials… yeah this game pretty much throws EXP at you for anything you do.
Is this game a Casual-Gamer friendly game in terms of progression? I am often busy with family or other things that require my attention but would love to get anywhere from 1-3 hours of game-play when possible.
Very much so. I am similar to you in that I can only play for a couple of hours a day at most. The game is designed in such a way that you can play basically the whole game solo, so you don’t need to wait around for a group to get things done. And because of the aforementioned “they give you EXP for everything”, it’s not difficult to level your character with the short time you have each day.
Azman – Asura Necromancer, Kemena – Human Guardian
Emracool – Sylvari Elementalist, Lyra Lightbender – Sylvari Mesmer
Thanks the speedy replies, I have a better general idea of how I may play the game now.
Does the selection of my server matter much? Perhaps if I were to do PvP at some point? Or not at all?
I am confused, a bit, by your questions. You’ve been here since September, took a break and came back in January…..
Did you take another break? That’s fine, but don’t you already have a server? You can guest to any server in your region, if you are thinking about transferring. =)

Well I had gotten the game back then and shortly after an immediate situation arose, I didn’t have the time to play whatsoever. So I have finally gotten to the point where I can sit down and play the game, fortunately. Haha.

You choose a home server but you can guest to up to 2 other servers every day. However, you can only participate in WvW on your home server. To move to another server to WvW you will need to pay a fee.
