I googled around a bit, but couldnt really find a clear answer to that.
I got all specialisations maxed and the Elite Spec to 30%
To max the elite spec it says, i need 175 more heropoints.. okey
The thing is, im level 80 and i got 83/189 heropoints according to the map…
Soo how do i get those 175points. Do i still get points by leveling up in masteries or what..?
also.. that i would have to do 175 more herochallenges to unlock all traits…seems like a lot to me..
how can I get more hero points??

I’ll also add that there’s 21 hero points on the HoT maps that can be done solo as they’re a commune or something that doesn’t require other players. On top of that, there are also a few hero points where you need to kill something but can most often been done solo because the boss mechanics are very simple and easily avoided.
Once you get to level 80 you won’t get any more hero points from levelling up. You’ll need to complete the challenges in the PvE maps. As other people have said the ones in core maps give 1 point each and ones in HoT maps give 10 points each. (And you don’t need to do them all, I did all the core map ones and about 3 HoT ones on my main and I had more than enough points to unlock everything.)
Alternatively if you do WvW you can also pay badges of honour and gold to complete a random Hero Challenge from the PvE maps without having to actually go there or complete it.

But how many of those only become available once a zone meta completes? An HP capable of being soloed but only when a huge group effort is required to unlock it is worse by far than an HP that is designed for a couple of so players.

That drops it down to 18. There’s plenty of hero points in core Tyria to make up the difference for what can’t be done solo (commune only) in HoT.
There are several hero points with champs that can be done solo. Balthazar in AB can be done solo because of how they programmed the AI and its aggro to work. The spider in TD can be done solo because it has two attacks with one very telegraphed. The vinetooth in AB can be killed solo if you can dodge it’s only attack when in melee.
The Champ Troll Hero Point in TD can also be solo’d pretty easily. I don’t know if it’s a bug or not but I found this troll does a very meager amount of damage for a Champion. There is an Elite Troll that can spawn near this HP that actually does way more damage than the Champion. Clear out all of the nearby trolls first before spawning this Champ.
