So is there no way you can have more than 5 characters? Like all 5 of my characters are on Fort Aspenwood yet friends play on Tarnished Coast, there is no way I can have characters on that server while having mine still on Fort Aspenwood without transferring my aspenwood characters there? and if I do that does it only transfer 1 at a time or all your characters to that server?

You know you can join them on their server as a guest from your own server right? (Don’t ask me how, my mate joined us from his server while we were questing)

You can only have one server for your account.

For PvE you can select “join mulch in queensdale” or wherever after joining group with someone from another server.

If you transfer your account to Tarnished Coast, all your characters will be on Tarnished Coast.

As far as I know you have one home server that all of your characters are stuck on. You can visit other servers as a guest and do stuff there as long as you have a friend on that server. Last I checked you could still transfer your home server permanently for free but that was a while ago and probably was just a starting out thing so people didn’t end up on a server different from their friends.

Pretty much the only thing that “home server” is supposed to matter for is WvWvW.

Also you start with a max of 5 characters but can buy additional slots at 800 gems a pop.

To my knowledge, the guesting system is not yet in place. Once it is, you can visit and play on your friend’s server. The only restriction, that I can remember, is not being able to participate in WvW. I’m not sure about sPvP

Hit “o” to bring up the Black Lion Trading Company, go to Upgrades in the Gem Store.

How do you get gems?

Gems are purchased with real money for a set amount, or if you have the in game gold, you can buy them through the exchange program on the Trading Post (second tab, I believe). It’s only 800 gems per character slot, so around $10 if you buy gems directly. It’s the same price as it was in the first game.

Ok cool I am poor as dirt all I can get is 780 gems thanks guys! =D

trade gold -> gem and with 400 gem you can get extra slot,
