I’ve just twigged another level of the majesty of GW2.

Normally (and I’m sure most of us have seen this ad nauseam and are sick to death of it), you have a bunch of people whining on forums trying to turn the game into something it’s not.

Normally, developers feel obliged to somewhat listen to them – because they know that their subscription fee hangs in the balance.

But because there’s no subscription fee in this game – NOBODY CARES. Neither the developers not the rest of us poor, suffering forum-goers need to give the traditional MMORPG whine posts any more credence (as it were, to defend the integrity of the game against them).

If you like the game, play it, if you don’t like it don’t play it – and only the most churlish troll would say they haven’t gotten their money’s worth even after a couple of weeks.

Maybe you’ll get a hankering for it again later. It will still be here.

There’s simply no need for anxiety or whining on anybody’s part.

(It shouldn’t be necessary to add, therefore I’d better add, that in no way am I suggesting that I think Arenanet won’t listen to players input. Of course they will. But the B2P model surely releases them from some of the anxiety that your traditional whine posts must induce in any developer of a P2P MMO. And this, hopefully, will relieve them of any obligation to depart too much from their vision to accommodate whiners.)

That’s because you don’t understand the business model, the game has a cash shop.

So they have to keep people playing to buy gems from it, so they can keep a steady flow of cash.

Saying you bought the game and it wasn’t good enough BUT you only paid once so it’s ok!
seriously? that’s your argument, how about we desire a game we enjoy that we paid for from the start, and that we will continue to pay for (gems and expansion)
You also assume that mistakes in a game can’t be learned from and thus improved on.

We all want the game to be better because we enjoy it. You simply think things are perfect as they are, I desire improvement, I desire more for my money.
and is that so wrong?
