No warning while salvaging ecto - bug or not?
It’s not a bug, it’s an oversight. But did you seriously contact support over one ecto? lol
Endless Petrification Tonic
There should be no confirmation. If I’m going to salvage stacks of Ecto, I don’t want to click on an “Are you sure” buttons 500 times.
Lol, i didn’t even know you could salvage an ecto. what do u get form it? i never tried.

t6 dust
salvage ectos is anet’s answer to the decling dust drops and the dust crisis……
Oh duh, how could I forget that?
I remember now when Anet made made it possible to salvage ectos, which dramatically dropped the the price of dust. It made it possible for me to get my bifrost I had been working on for a long time. The price of dust was ridiculous at the time and needing 750 for bifrost (I had just under 250) it would have cost me almost as much as the precursor!
Seriously, my memory is lapsing, I don’t know how I forgot such an an important event, perhaps coz I needed my ectos and never tried to salvage them, or perhaps information overload i lol.
That was a lesson. Don’t click salvage on items you don’t want to salvage. Cost: one ecto. A bargain at the price.
You really didn’t contact support about one ecto did you? No wonder they get bogged down with such frivolous reports coming in.

I really hope they do not add that… that would be horrible when you are needing dust
Lol, I love people who complain at the developers for mistakenly clicking am ectoplasm and losing 20 silver…. to the forums!!

~17s now which makes it slightly more ridiculous.
~7s (because I received 1 dust) and -1 bl kit use, it was a missclick, I wasn’t testing anything. More likely i reported it for a principle, oversight is an oversight and should be refunded in my opinion.
And it’s not like it lost all it’s value. Worse case he got once T6 dust. That’s like an 8s loss.
Oops, beaten by Psychol.

You are not going to get a refund OP. They don’t normally refund for player error. The guy who salvaged his Legendary weapon didn’t get a refund. It’s not a bug just because it didn’t have a warning. Many items don’t have a warning concerning salvaging. They will just tell you to be more careful next time.

I’m fairly certain you can’t salvage legendary weapons. Though I’m not sure about transmuted legendaries.

He said he salvaged it. I assumed he would know.
And there is this. A quick google for Guild Wars 2 salvage Legendary pulled it up.

The question is, it’s mine error or their because they didn’t put a warning to an exotic item, same with karma exchangers it was obvious that karma exchanging was wrong but no warning with exotic is not.

I love how people raging about this, it’s not even their item.
A warning for every single ecto I salvage is the last thing I want…
“Click, yes, click, yes, click, yes, click, yes…”

It was an old, several months back thread. The forum doesn’t allow searches of threads past a certain age. I did find this though.
Concerning someone who wanted a confirmation about soul bound items when deleting a character.

You’re welcome to suggest the “multiple tab” idea in the Suggestions Forum. I can see both sides of that, with greater assurance of noting the soulbound-ed-ness of an item, but with more time taken in reviewing all those tabs. So I suggest you share the thought in that forum and see what other players say.
I personally don’t think another confirmation system is the answer, but the devs may feel that it would be a good thing to have that (and they know a lot more than I do about the whole player experience ) . The bottom line — as I learned long ago in GW when I blithely hit “accept” and vendored a white dye — is that you need to slow down just a bit and pay attention to what you’re doing. No amount of “hand holding” (an apt term, imo) can prevent someone from doing something foolish. (Case in point, accidental deletions of characters. It’s surprising that someone does that, actually types out the name and still deletes in error.)

Which pretty much sums up their feeling about player error.

Guy salvaged his Dusk (guess that’s a Legendary, or it’s a precursor. Not really interested in them so don’t know all their names. But it was worth more than an ecto, whichever it was).

And there is this, response from a request to restore an item.

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to restore any items that are destroyed in-game, vendored and are no longer in the buyback tab, or sold on the Trading Post. I’m very sorry for the inconvenience this causes you. Hopefully at some point in the future, this may be a courtesy we may be able to provide.”

“The guy who salvaged his Legendary weapon”
That was all I could read. Room spinning in front of my eyes…I think I need to lie down for a little bit.

How many ectos are you salvaging? thousand? imagine that I’ve had to buy like that 80 stacks of dragon bash consumables, it took me hour or two. There’s a simple solution – more advanced interface.
Edit: manually scrolled through pages of a forum and found it.
Thanks, I’m gonna read now that fabulous story

I accidentally bought an Eagle rune rather then sell the one I had in inventory. Right clicked and hit the wrong context menu line. I want a refund of what I lost on the posting fees.
For the love of kittens…NO MORE CONFIRMATION DIALOGS! I’m starting to get sick of it, if people are careless and mess up, good, let it be a lesson!
oh hell no. this better not be an oversight that there is no confirmation. they need to remove the confirmation on salvaging greens and yellows (there should be one on exotics and legendaries), not add new ones.
or, better yet, do any one of my previously-suggestion suggestions:
- once you confirm salvaging a particular rarity, it wont ask you for confirmation on salvaging that rarity for the next 10 minutes or so.
- let you press enter to confirm salvaging, and you don’t have to re-use the salvage kit to then salvage more items

OMG! I almost cried when I saw that……WHY? He could have made someone very happy and gave it to them instead (like me) :P I will never be able to afford one, and to see something like this is so sad.
