There might be something players have done that causes the mysterious ghostly Anomalys. I think it may be based on something to do with events in Bloodstone Fen. Please anwser the following questions, even if the answer is no to all of them.

Did the story. Haven’t gone back to do any extra achieves. I do have all the map achieves except for one.

Seen: One, in Orr. Small one, bent over in the /cry posture. I think it was in Malchiors.
LS3-1: Yes, first day available. Only completed on one alt so far; saw apparition on different alt.
BF Events: All of them. I think I have all the map achieves except for dodging the rockfalls in the story instance, as I’ve only done that section of story once thus far.
Raids: I have attempted VG three times, never killed it, never seen any other boss.

Here’s more questions you may wish to ask:
Have you fought the Ley Anomaly/gotten the achieves for it? (I have).
Have you done the ley-line events/gotten the achieves? (I have).
How much unbound magic have you collected/do you have all the BF flight skills unlocked? (I have them plus the home instance node and am working towards my first mini).

Seen them all over the place. LA, Holbrack, Aerodrome. Looks like the running man but the height of a short norn.

Did it day one.

Did all of it day one. Only one since to get the ghost escort event.

Have I raided? Does 129 LI and roughly twelve hours a week count? Not that I recall seeing the guy in an instance; except his dad, VG

From what I can tell, only see it in open world pve maps. Not in WvW or raid or home instances as of yet.

I see them a lot in fractals and raids. Just normal anomaly mob that does /sad emote.
Completed story on release.
Did meta event chain 2-3 times.
1-2 full clears every week.

Yes, the shiny psychedelic model that pops into random places and then disappears. Looks like a mini ley line anomaly.

Completed all of bloodstone fen stuff.

Never raided.

For the record: I was seeing these apparitions before I had done LS3 or the Fen.

Have you seen a apparation? If so describe it.: Yes. Several. Various locations, including home instance. All the same depressed looking anomaly being.

Have you raided? Only a couple failed VG attempts, but nothing beyond that.

1. Yes. Several times. Standing around on a few of them and spotted them during standard event skirmishes/battles. Same weeping character each time. No recognizable features or characters. Only in HoT maps. I don’t hang out in guild halls too often. I may be mistaken, but I thought I saw one in Frostgorge Sound, but don’t quote me. haha.

3. Yes. All of them. And more, if I’m burned out on AB runs.
4. I’ve attended only two separate instances and we’ve never passed the first boss. I’m not a raider, so I haven’t delved too much into it.

It might be quicker just to see if anyone w/o HoT has seen them. If those w/o HoT are seeing them, there’s is no correlation with anything and it affects all players w/o prejudice

Yes. A smaller version of the Unbound Guardian.

Yes, several times, on several different characters (ranging from level 80 down to level 33.)

It looks exactly like the Thaumanova Anomaly but the same size as a human or sylvari. (Incidentally this is also what players look like if they walk into the Mystic Forge.)

I’ve completed the first 2 chapters and gotten access to Bloodstone Fen on 1 character, but I have not completed the entire storyline.

A few, I’ve spent maybe an hour in the zone in total. I’ve done a couple of rift events and the one where you fight the bloodstone champion.

No, but I have entered the raid zone and fought the Green Guardian. (Entirely so I could take screenshots to prove it was possible to attempt it with less than 10 players.)

It might also be worth asking who has done the Anomaly events and/or Current Events achievements, since some people think it’s related to those and not the Living Story.

Yes. Looks like the anomaly from the running man event but human sized.
I’ve seen it on Bloodstone Fen, Snowden Drifts and in a 3rd map but I can’t remember witch …

I’ve seen several but I thought they were just bugs?

Yes, several times. Each time was a tall (but not giant) humanoid that resembles the final boss in the Thaumanova Fractal. It could not be intereacted with, was mostly transparent, and vanished after a few seconds. I’ve seen it in several different maps on several different characters.

Yes, lasts a second or so. Human sized and shaped. Has a glowing center. Seen them in several locations, most recently just outside of Divinity’s Reach.
