I got a human atm, but i might want to reroll a norn or charr..

All my classes are human except my mesmer, its an asura, which i do also regret (wanted it to be a human)

But yeah, now im thinking about making another warrior, either charr or norn, but what do you guys think? What would you choose?

Either fits with lore pretty well. None of the racial skills are worth choosing a race just for them for the most part, and they are both big races. Ultimately it will come down to aesthetics for you. Given that you like your humans and you regret your asura, I’d suggest Norn. They are much more human looking and less foreign in design than the charr. Not to take anything away from charr, but given what I know of from your post I would suggest Norn will have a better chance of making you happy.

I have a human, norn, and charr warrior. (I know, it’s a personal problem.) The only differences are in aesthetics and character navigation. The Charr warrior, to me, seems to be the very essence of a warrior and I love playing him. I’m quite fond of the Norn, but his lumbering gait is a continuing issue—I still play him though. The human is probably best all around in terms of character navigation but I go to the Charr more often than not when I want to play a warrior as opposed to do a jumping puzzle.

If you can afford tier 3 cultural, I’d go charr personally. The tier 3 is bad kitten on males and females.

Also, are among the top 3 races when it comes to story. They put a lot of effort into the charr writing, and it shows. They also have some of the best animations in my opinion.

Having both a Norn and a Charr warrior. I would say it all boils down to personal preference. Each has their own unique animation for which weapon or utility skill you use as well.
an example is the great-sword charge. With the Norn it is over the shoulder as he runs in and then does a downward slice with it. While the Charr does to running on all fours (well threes) and then does an upper cut.
I find both amazing to watch when I am not pressed for time in a battle.

I’m not trying to be rude to you or anything, but I am just confuse why make another thread about it when you already made one 3 days ago while receiving decent feedback. It wasn’t good enough?

It was helpful for me though and I went with charr except it’s a guardian.

Oh this one is easy.

Make a Charr, type /threaten and /surprised. You’ll probably squee and decide that you want a Charr. If for some reason that didn’t convince you, take a look at the awkwardly big. BIG. neck muscles and toony build of the Norn.

…I’m sorry, I’m biased as I have a 2 Charrs myself. XD But honestly I think the humanoid (human and Norn) races are pretty boring. Plus, Charr look hardcore* when wielding a greatsword and they have better voices. And, Tybalt and Dinky are Charrs and everyone loves those guys.

*The word I wanted to use gets changed to badkitten. xD

I would say everything looks better in human. But for picking Norn or Charr, make Norn, because every skin look 10 times cooler in super size.

Charrs are big too though.

I’ve never been able to stick with a Charr toon. Can’t get used to being a quadruped. Makes jumping a real pain. Jumping thing can be the same for a big Norn too though.

Love the Norns…hate playing Charrs. But thats just me.

Lorewise, they both fit a warrior perfectly but for different reasons.

A norn would probably be the lone warrior seeking for glory, the way I picture them would be the one rushing to the front lines hacking at everything in front (and to the sides) of them, and nobody to answer to but themselves.

A charr warrior, on the other hand, would probably be a more organized type of warrior, more of a soldier type, part of a strict military organization, is is more likely to go to war as part of a highly organized group (their warband). Instead of seeking personal glory they’re more likely to seek glory for the charr as a whole and for their warband.

In the end it all comes down to aesthetics, norn when it comes down to it are bigger bulkier humans, so other than cultural weapons, the armors fit simmilarly. Charr on the other hand are very different when it comes to their posture and general attitude, and even in some armors (female charr wear male version of lots of armor, for example), and also in their animations. Some people love the fact that they run in all fours, other hate it.

My advice would be to check on a site like http://argos-soft.net/GW2ArmorGallery/index.php?sex=0&weight=3&color=10&race=1 how the different armors look on each race, so you don’t end up with a race that at 80, your favorite piece of armor looks like crap on it, and also make two temporary chars, one of each race, to get a feel of the animations and movement and see if you like them.

I would say the same as the others have said, go for norn if u want having those good looking armour and stuff as most of the armours doesnt look good on charrs at all because of their posture though T3 charr is nice. I personally went for charr, not only that making it look good is a challenge, but also hey u dont get to play charrs anywhere else only on guild wars. Whereas there are some norn like characters already in some mmo (big and bulky ones). I like the look of my charr warrior imo probably better than other warrior would look. And charr animation differs from others too a lot thus making them, imo, unique than other races.

Ahh, Charrs are bigger then Norn dude, I know, I have both.

With heavy enough armour, norn can look like Space/Chaos Marines. If you don’t want to look like that then you can be a kitty.
