Guild Wars 2

Im new to guild wars 2 and I would like to play on a PVE server thats pretty active.
Ive looked around the forums and found that TC, Darkhaven, and a few others are killer servers for active PVE’ers the only problem is that they are constantly full. Is there some diamond in the ruff server I havent found in the forums? I really dont want to have to worry about finding people to play with, and seeing as how one of gw2’s main driving points from what Ive read is encouraged grouping it would be a huge pain if I could never find a group. I recommend Yak’s Bend. There are always people around in my experience. If you ever choose to switch over, feel free to drop me a line if you’re LFG!

I wish I could. Yak’s Bend is actually one of the servers I’ve been trying to get to, however it is full currently. I’ll keep trying though I really hate playing MMO’s by myself. Kinda defeats the whole MMO aspect of the game.

Yeah, I agree. Playing the game with other people makes it a lot more fun.

I think it’s recommended to try switching at times when less people are online like early in the morning (if you’re in north america). Hope you can get onto Yak’s!

It’s funny, on the general GW forum there’s a thread about the game dying, empty servers etc. There are always loads of people running around when I play.

I find some maps have enough people while others have very low numbers. For example today I was in Dredgehaunt Cliffs doing a bit of mining and gathering, the place was almost completely empty with the map full og Events with noone trying. I did a couple, one alone and one with one other player. Later today I took my lower level Ele there because he hadnt been before and I am trying a new build, anyway same Events are all under way just like they were this morning.

On the other hand I find some maps with lots more people. Then again there are often quite a few in Straits of Devastation until Balthazar is done then it empties.

My point is (wo this guy waffles) is maybe you will find more as you play, perhaps you just haven’t been in one of the more popular maps. Who knows?

I play primarily PvE. I was originally on Dragonbrand but recently switched to Borlis Pass due to some friends being there. Both of those servers have pretty large PvE populations. I’ve never had any issues finding people to do things with in any area, all the way up to level 80.

I don’t like Dredgehaunts Cliffs either. I read it was a good place for Platinum or something like that and I desperately needed some.

@Jimm. PvE tends to have less people from what I have read. Maybe it’s a good idea to go to a high populated server you can get into and stand in Lions Arch asking for a Guild that has a decent active membership and a good amount of PvE play. If you don’t find a Guild you like making one is an option, you could even do both of those I think but some Guilds won’t like it.

I like Gunnars Hold for what it is worth. My thing is PvE, I haven’t even been to a Dungeon for ages.
