I just did Every single diving location just to be stopped in my tracks by this horrid monstrosity of a “puzzle” it’s not a puzzle, it’s a punishment game.

37/38 will be the permanent status of my much anticipated diving mastery achievement, Thank you Anet for disappointing yet another player, any suggestions how to make it even more difficult? i’d say make it teleport people out of the puzzle every 4 mins, but seeing as how dying does that already i’m a little skeptic.

Not everything is going to be easy the first time. Keep trying until you really figure out how to do the puzzle. I was awful at it at first (it took me several hours over the course of a couple of days to get it done my first time). I then continued to run it once a week or so, just so I could get better at it to help port people to the chest and such. Now, I can run the puzzle (starting from the waypoint and ending at the reward chest) in 5 minutes or less every time.

So yeah. Practice.

The problem with this JP are the things that shoot you up.
For players with a bit more latency the sling effect starts to act because that movement is calculated by the server and then sent to your client, so you can’t see precisely where you are and where you are going (it is always a gamble), and in such place the slight mistake you fall and lose all your progress, and all because something you have no control.

Same effect happens with the Dry Top sun/wind/lightning elements, the wind one is pretty bad sometimes, I had a hard time in that 1st JP in Dry Top because of that.

True, there is that latency issue. I, personally, never experience that problem, so I don’t usually think about it affecting people.

That is how I finished that JP, but I died at the dive spot and as the OP, I’m at 37/38

Last saturday me and 2 other mesmers set up a portal all the way up with one of us as a commander down below in the water. We managed to get well over 20 people to finish the diving spot. Perhaps you can try find a mesmer to help you up there, but before you jump make sure you check a youtube video on how to land into the water. Reaching the goggles is quite tough but once you know the route it is actually easier than it seems, apart from a few jumps that risk getting you killed. I imagine it must be pretty troublesome if you lag alot though.

Mesmers are your friends….

If you stand below the JP chest and map chat asking for a portal (to the diving goggles) on a weekend, you will likely get it. May take a bit of time, but people do that puzzle constantly.

I am also at 37/38 and can’t seem to make this jump even after watching YouTube. I was thinking that using the Teleport to Friend consumable with a friend (if i had one) parked at the goggles would allow me easy access to multiple tries. Has anyone done this?

If you think that’s bad, I’m at 36/38 when I should be at 37/38. Not So Secret was supposed to be my last one, but apparently one of the goggles I did didn’t give me credit, so now I have to do them all over again one by one because there is no way to know which one I missed…
