Guild Wars 2

I have looked, though admittedly not all that deeply, trying to find out how many characters one account can have. I was under the impression that up to 8 was the max. I cannot find where I got that idea into my head, though. Is this correct? Or is the number bigger? Could I buy, say, 10 more character slots, making 15 in all? I have alt-itis bad! lol

No clue on what the exact number is, but I know it’s at least 13. I’ve also seen the number 34 thrown around in map chat once, not sure if they were a troll or serious about having 34 character slots.

I think 34 is a troll. All you need, for the moment, is 8 character slots. Of course, I do think you can have infinite amount of character slots. (Or maybe like 254 ?)

Not sure why there’d be a limit. If you buy enough slots to double your number of characters slots you’ve almost paid the same as if you’d bought a second copy of the game. I have to imagine that Anet’s take on it would be “go for it!”

Thanks for the responses. I was laughing with Fred Fargone’s idea. I could see me filling up my character select screen so I could not see my characters!

If it’s anything like the first game, I had a total of 26 character slots. I’m sure there is a limit, but you can create and/or delete as many as you want.

In GW1, the limit was 32 or 36 iirc. I have 23 slots in GW1.

In GW2, someone suggested probably 40 – giving one slot for every race-profession combination.
