I now have a level 80 character with full Exotic weapons and armor. I obtained this by purchasing them through the tp with gold. I’m now looking at the next step in obtaining ascended trinkets and back item, and was wondering if experts know of the best way to obtain this stuff.

I have 25 laurels, about 250k karma, around 500 badges of honor (the things you get in WvW), and about 100 COF tickets. I only have 3 gold at the moment, due to using it to by all my exotic gear.

Also, one more question. If all that karma, badges of honor, and COF tickets are useless now that I have exotic armor, is there a way to get stuff to turn them into gold for a profit? Or really anything a value to purchase with them.

Thanks in advanced.

Laurel is the most important currency since it’s time-restricted. That being said, look for the cheapest and most effective use of your laurels here at the wiki page:

First buy amulet from WvW laurel vendor. I think it has higher stats per laurels than rings, you should double-check that. Next you should get the rings. It’s up to you if you want to spend your precious laurels for that or go for the Fractals route.

I recommend getting accessories with guild commendations. The laurel route is just absurbly costly. Ascended backpiece is ridiculously time-consuming either way. It’s probably better to go with crafting route for that, but be prepared to spend a fortune for crafting materials.

I would do Amulet and Rings via WvW and Accessories with Guild Comms as the poster above me said.

If your guild doesn’t have those available, plenty of guilds run “open” missions for anyone on any server, just guest that you’ll get credit. That is how I did mine.

Thanks guys! Just did some reading up on laurels. I’ll get my amulet tonight, and have to start grinding dailies and monthlies for the reset.

Anyone know what I could use my karma for? Or is it kind of a waste by now?

If you really find no use for your karma, wait for one of the temples (or the gates of arah) to open in Orr. Buy orrian jewelry boxes with karma. Open them, you’ll get some junk, some valuable crafting materials, and a lot of smaller things of liquid karma. You won’t get all of your karma back that way, but you’ll get a decent percentage of it back in a form that you can transfer to a different character (say, one you want to buy temple armor with or whatever).

You don’t need to wait for one of them to open actually, head to Penitent Waypoint, all karma vendors in Orr sell those

Ooh, good call. Temple vendor just makes it more convenient to spend the karma on anything else that might catch your fancy at the time.
