Occam's Weapon Chest - Carrion Chest
It could work for any class with lots of condition options. Necromancer, ranger, engineer, or thief would all be good options. And since ascended gear is all account bound now (even after wearing it), you could share the piece between characters.
Thanks for the quick response. He was thinking of using it on his thief, which is his favourite character now, so he will probably go that way.
This may be redundant, but once he chooses a weapon, it can of course only be used by those of his other characters who can also use the same weapon.
(For example, if he makes a sword for his thief, it will be useless for his engineer.)
Staff/scepter for mesmer/necro
Main hand pistol for thief/engi
Short bow for ranger/thief
Dagger for thief/ele (maybe) (others use dagger in power specs)
Those are gonna be most of your ‘typical’ condi setups. Also, note that engine kits now have their damage scaled to ascended stats when weilding an ascended weapon. Be careful of wearing too much Carrion stats even for condi specs. A lot of traits/sigils/etc, that good condi specs use, rely on precision to proc them.
spear is the most useful across total number of professions (6), followed by sword (5).
Mace, hammer, longbow and shortbow are the least adaptable (2).
But all that really means nothing. I would for instance go with a carrion longbow on a warrior, that being the specialized time I might welcome more condition damage is when I equip the longbow. Leaves runes and stuff pen for more general stats like power and toughness.
get carrion pistol
both thieves and engis use condi with that weapon (p/d for thief, p/x for engi)
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
Thanks to everyone for the input. He has decided to get the pistol for his thief (and possibly for use on his engineer down the road).
