should stay out of the way of those doing it”
- Thomas Edison
My current toon is a warrior, level 43, specializing in the greatsword. I do a TON of damage, but I’m very frail. My strategy is to kill enemies before they kill me, and provided they’re within a level or two of me, it works.
I’m thinking about making a guardian alt, but I’m concerned. They look very ‘defensive’; lots of blocking, healing, etc. This might make me harder to kill, but is it going to significantly impact my killing speed? My warrior might be fragile, but he only dies if I really over extend; otherwise, he chews through quests like lightning.
Any input is appreciated!
Guardian here, I’ve never had trouble with lack of damage. Just pick up a greatsword and start whacking.
If you have any more questions about the guardian class, I’ll be happy to help. I’m only in the 60s range but I think I know a decent amount about levelling as a guardian.
I’m a lv 53 warrior and also use the greatsword for most of my killing. I back it up with a shield and mace combo for when I get in trouble or have to fight a tough veteran. It works wel for me.
My main is a level 58 ranger and I find I don’t excessively do a mass amount of damage, but I can easily enough kill a mob 5 or so levels higher than myself within about 10 seconds at the most (Unless its a veteran mob). I’m not getting downed all of the time either. I try and wear hearty armours (giving +stats to vitality and defence).
The main thing is to find what works for you. You’ll get the hang of it, afterall, we’ve only been in game for a fortnight now.
