Oh noes Im naked o.o
…beg? :P
Seriously, I’ve sent silver to people before when they’ve asked nicely in map chat for emergency waypointing or repairs, and I don’t think I’m that exceptionally altruistic. Otherwise…naked runs are a challenge! Find a starter area and beat up some moa birds or something until you have some cash, you may find other players will help you out.
First off all, Never spent all of your money always keep 15-20 silver at hand for these kind of situations.
Besides Curuniel’s suggestion, you can also park your character near a bank, go to the login screen, play another character (or create one), make some money and deposit it in the bank

If your armor breaks it’s gone for good. Always repair if you need to, especially if you’re wearing any rares or exotics.
No, it doesnt “break for good” You just have a higher repair bill. It’s not uncommon to be streaking in Arah dungeon, and for a whopping 10.5 or so silver, your back in business and back at it.

No it isn’t gone. When being naked just tlak to the repair guy and it will be repaired and your wearing it again. I do hope you wrote this out of ignorance.

It isn’t I checked it out. I heard that armor breaking in these games means that it’s gone so I thought it’d be like that here too. At least we don’t have to pay IRL money to have equipment repaired (break = permanent there).
You should probably avoid presenting assumptions as facts Agemnon, especially in a forum section designed for players to help players as your assumptions may lead to a lot of confusion for other players.

Sorry about that. It’s still better to repair ASAP even though broken armor can be repaired (like I said, I had myself killed wearing all whites until armor broke and it was fixed). Good thing there’s no armor permadeath!
I try not to repair too often. I found if I repaired every time it was slightly damaged I was spending a lot more than waiting till it was almost gone.

It depends on the situation. I normally repair when I pass a repair npc (when needed) and go there on purpose when I’m not wearing a piece cause it broke down. In dungeons, it takes many times too long to get repairs cause there are waypoints closer to the fight.

@Erin: but does a damaged item not also mean that the stats on it are deduced ?
So basically having e. g. 4 items with each 30 CD would result in your toon having 120 CD less?
I believe from reading the wiki that it is not until an item is broken that you loose the stats benefits. Basically every time you are defeated an item gets damaged, after all 6 are damaged the next time you are defeated an item breaks. Basically damage seems to be a way to add a small penalty to death but if you keep dying (unless you repair) that penalty increases.
You still get the full benefit of damaged items (they show an orange/yellow broken shield icon) but when an item is broken (red broken shield icon) you are getting no benefits from it.

It may be 7 not six since my backslot became damaged once, though it may have been a bug since I was not wearing any other clothes at the time (was doing jumping puzzles), and I have not been able to recreate it.
I will be honest and say I have never checked my backslot so it could indeed be included. I forget it exists most if the time. So 6 or 7 deaths before you start to loose stats, not too bad!
If you have some karma, buy some cheap blue armor from Heart vendor.
Doesn’t even have to be your level, you just need to survive until you make a bit of money to repair your broken armor.
