Hello everyone, I havn’t played since a few weeks after release and I’m coming back today..just waiting for the download to complete. I was wondering though, has the game changed any since release? Please fill me in. Thanks!

For the most part all content was temporary besides fractals. no more Orbs of power in wvw due to hackers. Most ran dungeon is CoF Path 1. Warriors and mesmers pretty much dominate in terms of max efficiency for most things. Tons of temporary content you shouldn’t worry about because you’ll probably never get to do it anyway.

I think it was Wooden Potatoes that did a thorough video on YouTube about what had changed since launch. It is about an hour long or so, but he pretty well covers it.

Yes it’s changed a lot. These are just off the top of my head and in no particular order.

There’s a new item tier – Ascended which is slightly better than Exotics but currently only available for jewellery slots. It also has a special stat called Agony Resistence which is needed for the upper levels of a new “infinite” dungeon called Fractals of the Mists.

There’s been a lot of profession and skill changes, too many for me to list, you’ll have to look at the patch notes for them.

There’s a new level 80 area – Southsun Cove, which is where most people are now because they’re doing monthly temporary updates with short story arcs (called the Living Story) and the current one is set there. It’s 2 or 3 weeks in and the final part is due to come out next Tuesday so if you’re interested I’d give it a look. If you’re not level 80 don’t worry, you’ll be up-levelled for the duration of the event.

World bosses (like the Shadow Behemoth and dragons) now give a guaranteed rare item to players level 40 and above who help kill them. Which has made them very popular farming spots.

The tasks for the Daily achievement now change from day to day and you can pick which 5 you want to do from a list of about 9 or 10. They also reward a new currency called Laurels which can be spent on a bunch of stuff, including the Ascended items I mentioned earlier.

There’s also Guild Missions which guilds can do together (and non-members can help out too) which reward tokens to members who participated and get the guild as a whole new bonuses like reduced waypoint costs.

I am actually an old player aswell looking to come back. I played for a bit after most of my friends quit, enjoying alts and getting both my warrior and hunter to max level. If you are looking for someone to play with, I would be more than happy to join, though I cannot remember the server that I was on. Also, I will be looking for an active guild to join that uses some kind of VOIP for communication. See everyone in game!
