Hi,

Question: you can now report in-game mails, I got a mail from a gold seller.
Under what should I report this => Scamming, botting or spamming? Do any of you know?

Check bottom middle of the page while you’re looking at teh mail in question for an orange stop sign. They snuck in that report feature a few nights ago.

I know that, but under what reason should I report it? Is it scamming, botting or spamming?

edit: also I would like to encourage others to report gold sellers. Don’t let them ruin this beautiful game!

I always pick spamming. I didn’t see scamming, that’d be a good one too. In the end it probably doesn’t matter much, when arenanet reviews the report they can see what’s going on themselves.

There is no orange stop sign, there is only a white exclamation mark to report the player.

Since I got a gold seller mail as well, I reported it as scamming for now, because that seems the closest to it, and I’m keeping the email in case any GM gets back to me for clarification.

I’ll report under scamming as well then and keep the mail.

So far I reported as spammer. But really, they should just add a gold seller option.

I report them as spammers since they are repeating the same message over and over again.

It would be nice however to have an option to specially report gold sellers in the report dialog box to avoid confusion like this…

Also I would love to see a GW1 style banning where the banscythe cuts them down ingame.

I saw it once in GW1 and it was cool.

I have reported the powerlevel and gold seller spam each and every time it has occured. I applaud Arenanet for including this feature. These TOC violators chew up bandwidth and run shady websites that can harbor keylogger trojans and other destructive programs. I will always proactively report any scam/spam sites that end up in my mail or chat. My 2 min inconvenience taken to report is well worth the continued enjoyment of this game. Never be complacent … thats when the scammers win.
