If I purchase a backpack skin and use it on a level 33 backpack, when I upgrade can I use that backpack to skin the new one hence transferring the gem shop skin to all my future upgrades?

Yes.

That is, you can transmute any skin you have onto any other item of the same type. You just need a stone each time, or a crystal once you are using level 80 items.

awesome i was concerned about that. I always see these cool skins in the cash shop and I’d like to get some but thought it may not make sense to do it until I hit the cap.
