Hi guys,

I’m finally settling on the game and I’m now looking for a main class to pve on

Things I want to do:

Get 100 map completion
Do alot of jumping puzzles
Solo open world content and kill alot of stuff in orr
Dungeons in general

I really like low cooldown playstyle and I believe for me it’s very important I’m able to solo most content like veterans etc

I was thinking about Engineer but heard their dungeon wasn’t that great?

Mind recommending me a class that suits my preferences please?

Thanks

Spie

Thief weapon skills have 0 cooldown and you can opt for a 99% no-cooldown build using a Signet build.

Engineers are fine in dungeons; there’s a learning curve and high skill ceiling.

Just go with warrior they have everything you want
1/ Massive hp pool, strong defense, 25% run speed from trait + leaps combo S/GS.
2/ Every class can do jumping puzzle this is more about race problem than class cuz smaller race have more advantage.
3/ War can kill almost everything in open world pve can take down a group of mobs with no problem due to the high hp regen, high damg, good aoe + ton of offensive utility.
4/ War is a member of GWEN the four gods in dungeon.
5/ Low cd if traited.
6/ This class WILL BORED YOU TO DEATH.

Thief is fine no cd sound good for 1v1 with any champ (blind, evade, stealth) help you alot but you will have problem with too many mobs attack you at the same time but they are fun to play.

Engineer is king of AoE and with perma swiftness you no problem with world completion not like thief your bomb kit can blow a ton of mobs away but you will have problem with range attack champ.

Both thief and engi are not welcome in dungeon i don’t know why don’t ask me cuz ppl made it that way and they more like pvp class.

Otherwise just go with Ranger they are king of soloing in open world pve content they have more than what you want except dungeon like thief and engi BUT dungeon problem can be solved if you run with friend or guildie.

Thief, engi and ranger are all fine in dungeons. Why do you think they’re not?

Why do you ask me an unanswerable question like that ?

I brought my ranger/engineer to dungeon

Situation 1 Pub Grp
Me : hi guys
Group member 1: hey
Group member 2: why do you bring ranger here ? or engi seriously ?
Group member 3:….
Group member 4:
Final result : got kicked

Situation 2
Me: hello
Grp member 1:
Grp member 2:
Grp member 3:
Grp memner 4:
Final result : Kicked

Ultimate result : brought my warrior – end of story

What do you expect me to do ? Begging for my slot ? – Sorry bro i had enough !!

Perhaps reading the ~1k “no engis/rangers” “ele/war/guard only” lfg posts each day written by guys still thinking 3+ warriors are good for speedruns? :-D

I use my ranger for PvE stuff a lot. Having a pet to distract all the mobs is nice. And with traits your bow skills recharge pretty fast.

Until the passive pet bug introduced in the latest patch is fixed, no dungeon love. PvE, you can work around it as long as you don’t attack something.

I would recommend thief if you’re putting a focus on open world. They have insane mobility in regards to map completion, and their mechanic can make it to where they have no cooldown on their weapon skills (practice required, ofc). Their superior access to stealth also make a few puzzles easier on them in case they need to sneak past nasty mobs and such.

They have decent great DPS and superior focused DPS. They have a few rotations that reward the player for paying close attention to their target.

Dungeon wise thieves are highly accepted due to their near perma-blindness (depending on the monsters’ attack rate), and some paths make use of their stealth to brush past difficult content such as Arah paths, for example. They also bring projectile control in the form of Smokescreen and Dagger Storm.

Engineers are great, but for some reason have left a bad taste in players’ mouths. Open world they have great mobility due to true perma-swiftness and having quite a few gap closers (about-face techniques are well for more gap closing cheese). They also excel at hybrid damage so you could go condi, berserker, and even Sin gear works excellent for the class.

Dungeon wise, be prepared to press a lot of buttons as well as bring a non-condi build. For the most part as an enginner you’ll be expected to bring a bomb/nade build for max DPS as well as vuln stacking. The rotations on an Engi are intimidating at first but will just require a bit of practice. Utlity wise, Engi bring various field (most importantly: fire, water, and smoke), have a large amount of blast finishers, AoE healing, projectile control, and a few other things as well.

Personally, Engi’s can be very overwhelming at first due to high versatility, but they excel in the right hands.
