I’m sure I could google how to open a ticket in this game and get an answer, but why should I have to? Do they hide this on purpose? Just another thing Blizzard does better. A lot better. It should be in my options when I hit ESC. Why is it not there?

So the clicking on support button and then after going to the support page clicking on submit a ticket is too hard for a former WoW player?

On this page, click Support then “Submit a Ticket”. From inside the game, pressing escape gives you a ‘support’ option which includes a button connecting you to the support page.

That makes it one click less convenient than having a ‘submit’ button on the Support Menu. I’m not sure that counts as “hidden.”

Should the game have the “Submit a Ticket” button on the Game Options menu? It would be more convenient. I imagine they hope that people will take time to review the knowledge base or wiki first, since so many issues can be resolved by the player.

John Smith: “you should kill monsters, because killing monsters is awesome.”

What Yargesh said. If you pres ESC, you’re given a list with “Support” as an option. If you click on “Support”, it brings you to the bug report window, which has “Contact Customer Support” in large letters at the bottom. No, you can’t submit your CS ticket in-game, but clicking on the provided link takes you to the page where you do that.

There aren’t in game tickets as such but it is there. Either navigate through the support window or type /bug to get directly to the in-game issue report. That won’t get you answers, though, that’s to help ANet find problems.

If you want to file a ticket that gets email responses, click on the Support tab at the top of this page just above the GW2 logo. You should have a response very fast (within hours, not minutes). Sometimes it takes longer, but if it gets to … 48? .. 72? … hours without an email from Support, then they have a place (in the forums? I’m not sure, I’ve never had to wait that long for a reply) to report your ticket number for manual attention.

Useful tips: Only file one ticket per problem. You can keep replying to the email to advance it up the chain if it’s not immediately resolved. Multiple tickets slow you down. Be polite and respectful; describe the problem objectively without tossing about angry blame, even if it takes a while to finally get resolved, even if in the end they don’t give you the answer you want. The Support team here is superb if you work with them to fix things.

There used to be a Sticky for reviewing tickets older than 72 hours. It was removed, temporarily or permanently.
