To acquire property one can purchase it with money, trade it for other property, win it in a bet, receive it as a gift, inherit it, find it, receive it as damages, earn it by doing work or performing services, make it, or homestead it.

So if i buy gems for real money and transfer for gold and buy lets say some food or utilitie food on TP i acquire property ? Do i have the Ownership of that property or someone can take that away from me ( steel it ) without my will or any notes?

how it’s called when someone take your stuff whitout askin for promission or giving you a fair compansation( all your food etc ), and give you instead of your belongings something that you DONT NEED , DONT WANT, CANT USE in a mater like the Assets and property that you have made or buy for money ? not to mention that the value of unvanted stuff that you recieved is 3x lower ?

Is that a scam or steeling ?
Or we do not have the ownership of property that we pay for ?

I think it would be fair that ANET “reset” all the food etc. that you have, give you back the value ( TP value ?) of that stuff that they took away from you, say SORRY lads but we need to change all the ATTRIBUTES and VALUE of your stuff, cos you will benefit that way, and let me choose what kinda food i will take.
something like when ANET resets the worlld ability points, and give the points back to you so you can choose which upgrade u will max.

this way cant keep the word’s scaming and steel out of me head.

Those are the two most pertinent sections I could find on a quick, tired scan (hours in a HP train can be taxing!).

Here are some of the things you agreed to when you accepted the User Agreement:

It’s not that easy guys, it depends on the law in your country. In Germany, you might actually have a chance to get compensation for devalued items you bought. But nobody with a right sense would lawyer up for a Euro lost by a change.

You can quote as many EULAs or terms of use as you want, none of these things stand above the law. Many EULAs make the user agree to settle a dispute at a specific court, which contradicts German law that has different rules for jurisdictions. Some EULAs forbid the user to sue at all, but of course they can sue.

If I remember correctly, I wasn’t given the EULA before I installed Guild Wars 2, only during installation or afterwards. Since I’m in Germany, that means the EULA is not even part of the contract I made when purchasing a license to use the software. In Germany, an EULA needs to be agreed upon when you purchase the license, so even if I agreed to it to trigger the installation, it doesn’t mean anything for me.

Still, what OP bought was Gems. The Gems didn’t change. If what the OP exchanged the Gems for is now unsatisfactory, I don’t think that would be covered.

Let’s make it simple: you spent real money to buy gems; none of those gems were taken from you. What you chose to do with the gems afterward is your business.

You might buy something from the gem shop only to see a more interesting alternative show up a year later (or a major discount). You might convert to gold when the rate is low, only to see it increase later. You might use your gold-from-gems to buy consumables that were meta for a year, only for the meta to change for all sorts of reasons: new content, new techniques, and, of course, changes to the games’ mechanics.

But none of that affects the gems you bought.

So it’s simple: you didn’t lose anything. You might or might not have been 100% shrewd in your choice of investments.

No one took your stuff. You just don’t value it the same as before. Games evolve; there’s no guarantee that what is worth a lot today will be worth a lot tomorrow. Not even in real life.

Still, if you’re convinced that there’s a breach of contract here, contact a lawyer, preferably one familiar with MMOs. And get a legal opinion. Even if you convinced every forum reader that there was an issue, it won’t matter if you can’t get someone to take ANet to court, hoping for the 15% they’d get from a successful class action.

I’m convinced you’ll get the same response: you got exactly what you paid for: in-game currency (gems) for your RL currency; ANet doesn’t have any financial or legal responsibility after that.

I really really feel this is a troll post but been following it as i could over the past day. Here is how i see it ; you bought x gem value with actual cash -> converted to gold -> bought x item with gold -> said item lost value after a MARKET shake-up given recent patch/PoF info -> SOMEHOW perceive you have been hoodwinked/stolen from.

Let me explain one thing that is lost on you. Every item you make/buy/throw on the AH should be treated like actual “stocks” traded in reality. Anything and everything can and will change their value overtime. If you think you are not getting said items worth, sit on them and wait maybe the market will change and you can sell for it a profit. It is what a lot of people in game do. (Also take into account this occurs in every single MMORPG with a tradepost/p2p trading system, WE the players create/set the value of items not the game company.) (with this take into account the actual money spent → gem are SET values and don’t change, the GEM→GOLD is dependent on how many people convert between to the two which is why it changes value over time.)

I feel there will be very few who hold the same option of you, but good luck trying and wasting your own time.
