I’m pretty spankin’ new to PVP, so please bear with me for the dumb question.

I’ve been doing the daily for the past week in PVP instead of PVE, and haven’t really understood how you earn level experience doing PVP. I’ve gleaned that the purple bar increases your rank as it grows, but I haven’t been able to tell how it translates back to experience.

Can anyone explain how you get experience towards your Character’s level in pvp?

Different actions kills, wins etc give glory and this increases your PvP rank.

You do not gain experience in PvP. What you do in the PvP part of the game does not in any way or form effect your character in PvE/WvW.

ah – that’s what I was thinking, but I wasn’t 100% sure.

It’s too bad, PVP would be a fun way to level!

You can always do it in WvW, that is semi-PvP at least and it is quite fun!
