Guild Wars 2

I was thinking about giving the game another chance, though I suspect the accumulated download sizes of all the patches since the last time that I played sometime in the fall of 2012 will be too large for me to want to deal with on my limited connection. Can anyone give me a rough estimate of how many GB worth of patches I’d have to download to get current and be able to log in since a month or two after launch?

My folder size is 14.4 GB, if that helps answer the question (ie, someone else can look at their current folder size, assuming other assets aren’t stored elsewhere).

well, my folder is 23.6G you’re in for a nice 8-10 GB of download.

My .dat file is 18.6GB

But it’s possible some of the stuff you’ve already got will be replaced, so I don’t think the difference between what you’ve got and what we’ve got is an accurate way to tell.

The easiest way to know for sure is to start up the launcher, let it check for updates and then see how much it says it has to download. You can then shut it down if you want to and it won’t mess anything up.

You also don’t have to download it all at once. You can stop the update at any time and when you start it again it’ll pick up where it left off. It will go back to saying 0% because it always shows the percentage of what was left when it started, but the actual number of files to download will have gone down.

.dat file size may vary depending on how you update(-image or not) and what things you’ve missed that it wont have to download.

Mine is also 18.6GB
