Permanent Harvesting tools in shared slots?
Can permanent resource harvesting tools be used from a shared slot or do they need to be equipped and then returned to the shared slots for use on alts?
You have to equip them from your shared inventory slots. The fastest way to do this is to equip your characters with normal harvesting tools (of the highest quality they can use), and when you log in a character open up your inventory and double-click on the permanent tools…. they’ll swap out with the tools equipped on your character.
Then, before you log out your character, double click on their normal tools in the shared inventory slots, and they’ll swap out again.
It takes a bit of adjusting to, but it becomes second nature pretty quickly.

It would be nice if they would just somehow make them account wide for your max level toons.

That would alter the functionality of existing tools and prompt requests for refunds.
