Guild Wars 2

So I have not played GW2 in years since it was first released but I want to give it another try but because I have been out of the game for so long I dont know what profession to pick.
I was thinking either Warrior or Guardian but which one has the best damage output for pve and pvp which has better soloing power and survivability?

Balance update is tomorrow so a little hard to speculate what will stand out more.

I just got a friend of mine onto this game, he’s currently picking a class by trying them all individually in PvP where all his skills are unlocked for him, maybe try there?

I know he likes Reaper very much.

Don’t choose guardian.
PVP: bunker killed, DH trapper nerfed
raids: just useless
