Guild Wars 2

Just something that I had to get out of my head this morning.

After another update this night you might think well this game is buggy and people that played D3 are reminded of the endless pain of hell on release. And then I read that people compare the GW2 Launch with D3…

First of all, from the first day I was able to login and play. Ok, it was after a few login attempts, but hey, I didn’t get error 73.

Then, the GW2 Team does a wonderfull job on addressing all issues as soon as possible, giving an update everyday on what they’re working on. Even solving content issues on a daily basis. This communication is the key factor that it doesn’t even come close to a D3 launch.

All in all the GW2 team is working theirkitten to the bone for us to wonder around this wonderfull world. It took me 3 days getting used to the controls, world and profession. What on the first day looked like a bad profession is now, after a week of playing my most favorite, the Engineer. So just one advice, keep on playing while GW2 is improving your experience, it’s Awesome. And I think it’s better than Kung Fu Panda world of warcraft which I played for years and years, but got easier every release. My 8 year old daughter is playing it now, so I can focus on GW2 :-)

I just think the GW2 Dev team deserves a big thank you for last weeks effords, and I hope everyone is going to be happy with the game soon! I’m back to Tyria now! Have fun

The OP had used a swear word, which the forums censor into ‘kitten’; to wit, ‘ANet has worked their ’kitten’ to the bone.’ The second post is a joke on that, referring to animal abuse.

evidently the kittens are far more reliable than the hamsters that blizzard use in their servers.

I think arenanet have done a good job, ive only had 2 instances of login issues in my first week of playing, with d3 i had a lot more, the GW2 team have done a much better job

And just for the record, D3 blows chunks compared to GW2.

I dont know how it can even compare.

guild wars 2 goes down every now and then to install a few files and then all is good. sure its inconvenient if your in the middle of something, but its making the game better in the long run. or would you rather..

error 37, you cant log in, random crashes and errors, going down all the time for long periods without warning, or very little warning, hacking by the truckload to steal gear and gold to sell on the RMAH and botting?

Guild Wars 2 has been silky smooth in comparison. Dont get me wrong though, i loved D3 but the launch was really really bad.

So does that mean arenanet is anti kitten?

Uh… I’ve had no problems whatsoever. One or two restarts daily at about 12am pst, but that’s all they are… just restarts. Like five seconds of not playing? Who would complain about that? Idiotic spoiled brats, i guess.

From what i remember Diablo 3 launch involved error 33 or something, only about 100 people were actually able to play it on launch, after about 3 hours of error 33, it all went offline for another 3 hours or something. But all Blizzard launches are horrible.

GW2 launch has been incredibly smooth.

oke, i normaly dont respond to posts. but now i have to make an exception. how could anyone ever conmpare D3 to a mmo?

D3 is a single player game with a multiplayer mode. it was unheard of when you got the game you had to be online all the time. it does not make any sense what so ever,. and to make it worse you could not play the game on release!

GW2 is a MMO RPG. a masive multiplayer online role playing game. you can see its in the name that you need to be online and there are a lot ( see the word massive there?) players about. the first weeks its gonne be swarmed and i fully expect the servers te be down. and low and behold! it did not happen. day one of head start there was a 4 hour down time. day 2 2 hours in europe of complete down time.

and to be honest THIS IS AMAZING. Anet is not a blizzard and its not a activision. id dit not take them 10 years to make this game ( D3 any one? ) and they pulled this off.

TLDR: D3 is not eaven a MMO so dont compare the D3 launche to a MMO one.
