Hi everyone
A couple months ago i’ve burned my left arm with boiling water T_T really ugly thing. I’m at treatment right now, but i can’t use my left arm for a long time. I have no skin on it and hurts a lot.
I know there is a lot of people that play with one hand only. Can you tell me how you set your keyboard and mouse for that?
I’ve tried to play only with the mouse but is not optimal or i’m still very slow and unskilled. I have die a lot xD I was never a hardcore player or super skilled but now is worst hahaha.

Thanks in advanced and please take care yourselves and your kids of this kind of accidents.

PS: Excuse my english, it’s no my first language.
Take care

In addition to the Razer Naga to control skills, with F1 to F4 on the spare 4 keys. and you could try and get something with keys big enough to control with one of your feet. Or you could try and get a hold of a joystick that counts each direction as a reprogrammable key, and set them to WASD.

I’ve heard there are foot pedal controls you can add to your computer though I have no idea how they work or how many commands they can handle. A gaming mouse with a ton of buttons, or one of those gaming number pad thingies, might be what you need if you can learn to use one.

I am so sorry about your arm. Burning is one of my worst nightmares even though the worst I’ve ever done was grab a 350 F degree cookie sheet out of the oven with my bare hand when distracted. That was excruciating pain that I still recall 25 years later. Your whole arm? Aieeee. I really hope you can find something to let you play the game and distract yourself.

Look into gaming keypads.

They’re kind of mouse/keyboard hybrids with about 12-20 keys and a thumb stick or other directional control, all of which can be customised.

Thanks everyone i think my best option it’s a gamer mouse like the razor naga one.

Luckily it wasn’t the entire arm, but yeah it’s a lot of pain thank you!

Cheers.

on topic, you can hold LMB and RMB to run. With that tip you should be able to run and click skills even if you don’t have a naga.

on topic, you can hold LMB and RMB to run. With that tip you should be able to run and click skills even if you don’t have a naga.

You can also enable auto-run if you go into option>controls for keybinding. You will also find action camera mode useful in this case as you would not need to hold down RMB to control camera. You toggle this on/off by setting a keybind to it in the same place as for auto-run (look for camera section).

Which hand is working? Most gaming keypads are only made for left hand as they are designed for right hand user of mouse.

There are some other brands which also make MMO mouse besides Razer and Logitech. Here is a description of how I use my mouse, so you can get an idea of what to look for and what to expect.

I own a Logitech G600 with 12 buttons on left side for thumb. I can not reach all of these with my hand resting on mouse during play, so you should find somewhere to actually try out if you will be able to use all button with your own hand.

Mouse wheel can be toggled left, right and click, so you will have three potential keybindings here and there are three possible (LMB, RMB and a third) to assign where I use third click button to swap weapon as it hard to avoid to press that button while moving mouse. It is easier to press left (against your thumb) mouse wheel, then to press the opposite direction (easy to click mouse wheel instead). Not all features are useful as button are placed to high to reach while moving mouse and you don’t want to reposition your hand while you are in a hurry to use some skills.

Another thing your might want to look into would be a gaming pad as I have seen some people talk about using it to play GW2/HoT. Not sure if you would be able to use it with only one hand, but it might work if you can toggle button to have several function for the most common skills.

Use this and make key pads outta anything. Hook it up to some foot pads or even toe pads! Get some clear plexiglass and make face smash pads! Make a mouth guard with buttons!

Get a Simon Says game, pull the guts out and just use the four key pads. Use one for each foot to trigger some skills.

Get an old organ with a bunch of foot pedals and hook up the triggers.

Kool part is when you’re healed and you’ve taught yourself how to drive one handed and two footed you’ll have a full extra hand and 5 fingers for other controls.

I’d suggest a Logitec G600 mouse for 15 times however many banks you want to program. Or something like a Razer Nostromo game pad but made for the right hand.

Accident sounds terrible. Get well soon.

I hurt my arm at work a year ago and had a couple of miserable months like this, I feel you.

I gave up on doing PvP and WvW, because that is just frustrating with one hand. However, dungeons and world bosses are fine. Having a party helps, but as long as you’re not leading the charge it is pretty easy to play with only the mouse. I recommend a swap to a ranged weapon so you don’t have to move as often.

LMB+RMB to move. Usually I stop moving a little bit before my allies, so they get creep aggro because turning to run away is doubly hard for the one-handed person. Click some skills, watch stuff die.

Type out a couple of messages ahead of time like ‘im going afk’ or ‘i need help!’ or whatever and send them to an empty chat. If you need them later, just press enter, then up arrow to scroll through your old messages and re-send them.

Jump puzzles and map completion are probably off the table for now though!
