Q:
Please Help Me! I'm a new player.
In the starting zone catch someone and ask for help because that would be more helpful. Anyway for low levels you dont need WvW because it will get you confused, to be clear its just 3 servers contesting on 4 maps by conquering castles towers etc. sPvP is the place of equality and Team vs Team gameplay. For starting levels just keep up with events and always talk to scouts that unveil hearts on maps. Don’t go to too high level zone and look for guides on google and wiki.
The Guild Wars Wiki is very helpful as is Dulfy.net. Also look at the Interactive Map of Tyria.
Use the asura gates in Lions Arch to get to each city and to the various starting areas and have fun.
It would help if you also tell us what profession you are playing currently, and at what level now. But GW2 is a game you don’t have to try to level as quick as possible. Due to level scaling, even if you are much higher level in a lower level zone, you don’t get that much advantage (some, but not that much) over the lower level mobs because you will be scaled to a level close to theirs. So just play the game naturally, explore the area, gather nodes when you see them, participate in events, go from hearts to hearts, play your personal story, go conquer a vista or point of interest. There are a lot to do.
Focus on map completions (hearts, skill points, & points of interest)and dynamic events (orange quests shown on the map at random times), they give good exp for lvling.
You can find a black lion auction house rep and buy cheap gear on the trading post, to help keep you from dieing. I wouldn’t worrie about pvp & wvw untill you learn the game a little better.
