Q:

I would really appreciate knowing the specifics of how the bonus experience is calculated when killing monsters around the world. I assume it has something to do with time, but I just can’t be sure since my results are never consistent. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

A:

The longer a mob has been alive the more of an XP bonus it will give, up to 4 times I believe. I don’t know the exact numbers, but it is why you can find a random neutral mob that no one would ever attack (a hermit crab, for example) and it will give a giant XP bonus. When it respawns it will not.

The longer the mob has been alive, the more bonus XP you get. It’s to encourage you to explore out of the way areas of the map.

I know you get more XP for a mob that has been alive longer. That’s all I know about that.
