Guild Wars 2

Hi all,

My Guardian is only 12, but after trying all the classes to 15-ish, I’m finding this to perhaps be one of the most fun.

I’d like to ask what weapons and trait lines you’d recommend for:

1) Solo PvE’ing
2) WvW

I love WvW, and I test each class based upon how much fun I have in WvW.

There aren’t any “best” builds. It is all based on how you are using your skills in the situations you end up in. Learn how the weapons work, then look into your utility skills and see how you can build symmetry. Then see how your traits effect your skills and work out what traits you want to work toward. Its all based on which skills you find work best for you and work best for what situation.

I don’t know your play style, but long of the short is. If you’re not good at dodging attacks, moving, and staying alive. Play the Guardian. It’s easiest to stay alive, good support as well, decent dmg output depends on your spec and play style. Good class for standing in the open, soakin up dmg and removing conditions.. healing… etc.

Guardians might do less dmg, but you’ll stay alive long enough to actually do the dmg.

If you like wvw i would go greatsword as its just imo the best of the guardian weapons and a ranged weapon. Staff if you like the ability to heal scepter and some offhand if you want to go a different route. As for the traits what do you like to do?

In WvW I like to defend keeps, it’s a blast. Taking them is fun, too, but I really enjoy the “fear” of “Oh !@#$ they’re gonna breach!” I also like to roam in WvW, PvE’ing for drops and looking for solo enemies.

So I suppose I need advice on the best build for 1v1 in WvW (and of course in solo PvE).

I know Guardians are facemelters, and I don’t want a FOTM cookie cutter build. I’d just like to solicit folks’ advice on choice of weapons and skills and traits, etc., that they’d found offers a fun playstyle.

Their guide is pretty good, I agree with it at least in terms of what is good for WwW.

As for traits I’d go into zeal, valor, honor and virtues.

Well for guardians pve and wvw weapon builds are different. Most i see in pve use x and shield or greatsword. I personally use a sword and shield for the on call block skill and fast teleport ability. While in wvw i want something ranged and a greatsword as im not as worried about the teleport to opponites as with a greatsword i can just drag them to me with the skill 5. As for your 7-9 slot skills what do you use?
