Where do you draw the line between picking a class that you enjoy but is very weak compared to a class you might not enjoy but is very strong? I have tried almost every class to at least 40 and the ones I enjoy the most everyone says have the most issues at max level like my necro or engineer. The two classes I find the most boring are the ones people say are the strongest: warrior and guardian.

I think either way Im screwed. If I continue playing the classes I enjoy max level could just be a massive headache and probably make me quit because killing things might be a tedious task with lots of deaths. But again on the other side if I get a class to 80 I dont really enjoy I still might quit because even though Im powerful and can faceroll everything I dont like the class.

So which is the right decision? Play a weak class you enjoy or a strong class that you dont? I prefer to min/max when I play so I dont want to suck once I hit 80.

Play the class you enjoy, no question about it. If you enjoy it, then you will have more fun with it even if it kills a bit slower. If you play with a class that you do not really feel attached to, then you will end up not having as much fun, or hating it in the end…

Also, with this kind of games, power shifts constantly. So the powerful class today, could be the weak class of tomorrow. I’m sure necro pets will be fixed, as well as other bugs, and classes will be somewhat balanced in a few months.

I agree with the “play what’s fun for you” suggestion. This is a very new MMO that should be around for years. Buffs and nerfs are going to happen buh-zillions of times and things that are weak now will be OP soon, and vice versa.

Besides, just because it’s considered weak now, doesn’t mean that it IS weak, especially not in the hands of someone who knows how to play the class.

So I should keep playing my necro as a minionmancer even though theres 1000 posts saying that minions are horrible and worthless?

So do you care more about your own fun or what other people tell you?

Play what you enjoy. In the end you will be good at it and you will find a way to make it work right. Your standard PUG may not appreciate this but your guildies or friends will eventually see that you are a valuable asset to the party.

Because what I enjoy is plowing mobs over at max level while farming at a fast pace. If my class that I find fun while leveling wont let me do that then my fun goes to unfun. Thats happened in SW:ToR. I had a lot of fun leveling and doing the story quests but once you hit max level the game ended because it was impossible to get groups. So whats fun for leveling can easily go to “This sucks why did I waste my time leveling this class?” in a hurry once at max level. I want to avoid that.

Looks like you’ve made up your mind already. If plowing through mobs as fast as possible is the only thing you are looking for, then you really should listen to others and select the class that has the most dps even if it’s not fun class to play.

I don’t really understand why you want to do that but then again, I don’t have to
