Hi all, quick question for everyone. Is it still taking a long time for ppl to recieve the 4k gems that you get from pre-ordering the PoF Ultimate edition? The reason I ask it because I was originally going to wait a little longer before I ordered it bc of some rl things, but discovered today character slots were going on sale this Saturday, and decided i’d go ahead and get it now so i’d have the gems to buy a couple more slots but i’ve heard a lot of people are still having delays. Does anyone know how long this might take? I just really don’t wanna miss the character slot sale
PoF Pre Order Gems
It should take 72 hours as stated on the purchase page, but some players have had to wait up to 7 days due to high volume.
What you can do, is purchase the Ultimate Edition, and contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ask that you be allowed to purchase the Character Slots at the reduced price if the 72 hours expires before the sale ends.

It could take as little as 24 hours. The longest I’ve seen someone claim so far is 96. It depends on your bank, its relationship with DigitalRiver, and potentially what sorts of things you regularly purchase with your account.
Two fictitious examples to highlight the extreme:
- A new credit card that has been used twice to purchase toothpaste and gas gets used to buy the game, compared to…
- A dedicated PayPal account that you have used once per month to buy GW2 gems from ANet.
(I’m not saying that one would necessarily take 96 or the other 24, just that you can see how one might take longer to verify than the other.)

Its the card I always use to purchase gems for my account and i’ve been using it for a while if that counts. I contacted support right after making this post but as of yet I still haven’t heard anything, really hoping I hear from them before the sale ends.
If the sale you want ends before you get your gems, update your ticket and ask if they can help you out. I imagine if you ask graciously, they’ll figure out a way to help you out.
