Possible to remove component from one item and place it in another?

If you’re interested in moving an upgrade component from one item to another, salvage kits are not the only option. Transmutation stones allow you to combine 3 separate aspects of 2 different items: appearance, base stats, and upgrade component. So even if you don’t care about changing the looks of something, a transmutation stone can be used to transfer just the rune or other upgrade component.
You can get some basic transmutation stones for completing a map, so there’s not even any need to buy them.

The only way to remove it is to use a Salvage Kit, which has a chance of removing the upgrade from the item. The better the Salvage Kit, the higher the chance. There is also a Salvage Kit that gives 100 removal of upgrades from an item.
If you’re still low level, I would say that it’s not really worth it
The Black Lion Salvage Kit has a 100% chance. They can either be bought with gems, or randomly given as a reward by completing daily achievements.
