Precursor crafting done for me?
In case you’re not aware, you get the Spirit of the Zap Experiment by salvaging the Zap Experiment. So, check to see if you still have the Zap Experiment weapon on your character(s); if it’s there, then all you need to do is salvage it.
Already checked that.
Uh … for some stupid reason the spirit of whatever also has a vendor value …
I generally toss them into the bank as soon as I get them to avoid potential accidents
If you have gw2efficiency.com set up you can use that to search for items on your account. If it turns out you lost it somehow then make a ticket and contact support. They should be able to send you another.
ANet may give it to you.
Try speaking to Grand Craftsmaster Hobbs in Lion’s Arch (he’s the guy by the crafting stations holding Nevermore). There’s an option to tell him you lost a key part of your legendary and he’ll give you another one.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Okay that’s scary that you can just sell the spirits at a vendor. I’m hoping I wasn’t dumb enough to do that, but I probably was.
Thank you for the tip about gw2efficiency.com, I didn’t know I could hook up my account. But alas, when I type in The Spirit of the Zap Experiment, it shows nothing.
I have checked Hobbs multiple times, but he doesn’t have anything to give me, sadly. I don’t really know what else would be missing though.
Thank you for everyone’s help! I sent in a ticket, so hopefully the Gods of Anet will smile upon me and forgive me this once for my dumb mistake. (Apologies about my reply, I don’t know how to efficiently reply to three posts with the quotes thingy)

I’ve crafted Legend and Spark so far and Hobbs still has nothing to offer me in that tab. Considering how many crucial parts of Precursor Collections can be sold to vendors his replacement mechanic us actually a joke. Then on the flipside there are also items that are for the unlock only yet don’t have a vendor value and some even require the security mechanic for tossing exotics. (Looking at you Boar Bristle, who keeps jamming my inventory)
I’ve had a guildy who accidentally sold the Jade Maw Lens from Legend III. It took the Support ages to replace it.
The idea behind these gizmos is neat but they’re just such a fragile thing and if you lose it you’re out of luck.
Hobbs’ only purpose seems to be replacing a couple drop only items. I think the sap from Bloomhunger for HOPE can be replaced through that.
And just for clarity, because I don’t see it explicitly mentioned:
After you crafted Zap Experiment, did you make sure to salvage it? You need to salvage it to get Spirit of the Zap Experiment.
I’m also hoping it didn’t go into the Mystic Forge by mistake
It sucks that Hobbs only gives you those things, when there are a lot of things that he could sell, like the Spirit of _.
I specifically remember salvaging the Zap Experiment. I remember crafting the ZE, then going to Hobbs and getting the new collection, and then salvaging the item, because I thought it was part of the collection, but then looked it up and saw that I needed it later, so I just had it in my inventory.
