As all of you expected, this is a topic on the frustration on getting a precursor. It irritate me when thousand of rares thrown inside mystic forge, hours and hours of waiting for your buy rares item on TP, and you still didn’t get any precursor. What make me more sad is a guildie of mine get a dusk in his 10th try.

This randomness make me crazy. It need to stop. Anet, please make another way of obtaining the precursor. It doesn’t matter if it long, as long as I know I’ll get one. Instead of throwing rares and crossing fingers, this method is nothing near to fun.

To the players, any insight on a better way to get precursor?

I’m 265 attempts with 4x Rare Greatswords(10 attempts Exotics). Ive gone over 30 attempts before without even an Exotic. Its costly and annoying. When you need 100g runestones, tons of money towards the Gift of Metal… its very daunting.

It would be different if there was a legit easier way to obtain this. I have a guy in my guild with Eternity(Sunrise + Twilight) and has about 4 other Precursors in his bags. How? He bought them all near launch in hindsight of the market shooting up the prices.

Here is the real kicker so lets say you decide well hell ill get all the other mats then get Dusk or Dawn last.. You obtain all the mats and few months by. Dawn/Dusk is now 600g and you were aware of the increase so you tossed in few thousand Rares into the forge with no precursors. So what this boils down to is this system is a testiment to a good thing the game is F2P. No one wants to pay $15/m to farm in CS for few hours then buy/make bunch of Rares and toss them into this RNG.

Both of them appear to have stabilized in price during the past 10 days or so, so I expect they have more or less reached equilibrium. They’ll continue to go up naturally with inflation, but I’d be surprised at multiple consecutive days of tens of gold price increases any more.
