I haven’t ever seen an official statement regarding this, however I have heard the rare occasion of someone getting one from a champ box. The chance is extremely low though. I wouldn’t count on it too much if I were you.

the only reason why i occasionally farm champions is for that rare chance to get a precursor, otherwise i think that this is the worst farm ever

It’s possible, the rate is incredibly low, you’re better on throwing all the weapon loot you get into the forge though. (greens become rares 1/5th of the time. Rares have an approx 0.2% chance to be a precursor but a 1/5th chance to become an exotic, exotics have an approx 1% chance of returning precursor)

The Precursors ARE in the Exotics loot table, so the chance is there (I’ve gotten a handful of named Exotics from them)….it’s just not very good. On the other hand, if you are planning on buying or using the Mystic Flusher to get one, earning your money via the Champ Train would have the added benefit of possibly getting you one during that process. World bosses are another option (I have no idea if the chances for an Exotic are better or worse from them). I think successful World Boss Events yield an additional guaranteed Rare or Exotic (so that potentially adds another chance). I’ve certainly seen others CLAIM to have gotten a Precursor in chat after Claw of Jormag Event.

i play with the MF alot, i could say that my mainly reason in the game is to get precurosrs out of it or more in general to get precursor in any way possible. That’s why i’m asking about champion’s boxes i could go for an hardcore farm if there is an actual possibility to obtain a precursor from that

Anything that can yield exotics can yield Precursors
